I would give 0 stars if possible! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE customer service! At PUB DES BORGIA. They treat tourists like garbage. We were told by the lift people to go there to use the washroom. My brother in law and I walked in NO ONE WAS AT THE FRONT TO GREET US. We used the washroom and came out. We were gonna go get the rest of our family standing outside to get a drink when the girl working there starts giving us attitude and yelling at us in front of customers and told us why did we use the bathrooms? She was shaking her head and all yelling at us and rolling her eyes. She said why didn’t we ask when we came in to use the washroom when no one was standing there to greet us. So rude and extremely unprofessional. How dare you treat tourist like that or ANY human being or customer. I then yelled back at her and went outside and told my family we aren’t going in there due to how rude she was and then she had the audacity to come outside and start yelling at us when I’m talking to MY family! She goes to me “ you have a problem with me talk to me” excuse me???? How dare you harass my family and I OUTSIDE of your working space. She was so so rude! I’m sure the rest of the staff is garbage too. She came outside and again started yelling how she has to clean the toilets we used????! Everyone was watching like how embarrassing for her PUB! I’m sorry if we had a drink there would she not have had to scrub those toilets as well??? Clearly the employees have NO CUSTOMER service training at all. So so rude to tourists and customers. We have never been so disrespected. Because of her we hate our Quebec trip. We let the lift people know how rude she was and many shops along the way! Save your money! Soooooo many better places along the strip to spend your money and get respect. Managers need to get rid of staff who have no people skills or train their staff to behave better. I would tell everyone to not go there. They have no idea who the customer is and how big their social media bases might be and the influence we can have on millions of people. So be kind to everyone. On a very bright note! Try “Casse Cou” restaurant on the strip. Omg SERVICE WAS AMAZING! And they were so so nice to us! Food was AMAZING! DRINKS EVEN BETTER AND AFFORDABLE! They were so big! You get your bang for the buck! Staff was soooooo nice to us! Go there! We told them about the horrible behaviour from the PUB place and they were apologetic on their end for how they treated tourists. We enjoyed our time at CASSE COU! Go there! The guy was super super nice to us! AND we were allowed to use their bathrooms without getting kicked out or disrespected.

Such a lovely pub just in the heart of old city. The interiors are very cozy and give a feeling of a good old pub. The staff was very attentive and nice, they even asked if the music wasn't too loud for us. And food...guys that was awesome! Their onion soup is an absolute must for onion lovers (I am Polish so onion is my life)-so so tasty and served with cheese and bread dipped in the soup. Hot camembert was delicious and even though I was super full, I would eat another one just for the taste 😁 I also tried local red Quebec wine and it was very good too (I am a fussy wine drinker). Prices very reasonable, especially in this location. So when you see this pub, don't be shy-pop in and let yourself go for a Canadian food journey. Yumm!

During our trip to Quebec, my wife and I stopped by Pub des Borgia. It’s a cozy little spot in a great location, right in the middle of Old Quebec, which makes it easy to pop in while exploring the area. This was my first time trying French onion soup, and I’ve got to say, it was really good. I can’t compare it to any other place since it was my first time, but I enjoyed it. The flavor was rich, and it felt like good comfort food, especially on a cool day. We also had some wings and a couple of beers. The wings were tasty and the beer hit the spot, nothing over the top, but solid and just what you’d expect from a good pub. Overall, it’s a nice spot to relax, grab a bite, and enjoy a drink after walking around.

HUGE TOURIST TRAP - Horrible Food (Soup is bad) & Service (SCAM on TIP)

I came here during my recent trip to Quebec City, I come twice a year, once in summer and once in winter. I stopped at this place because we were passing by and thought we would get a drink and some food. The place was charming inside and they had a wall of board games so we thought we would stay for a while and enjoy ourselves. But that was where anything fun ended. We came on 2/16/2020 around 4:00. The male server was horrible, took forever to get waited on, we had to ask for water so many times we were getting up to try and get the female server from other rooms attention to finally get water. The order was wrong and he never checked back, the food was horrible, like really really bad, even their special of French Onion Soup was horrible. Finally we wanted to pay and leave but we could not flag down our server (it was not busy). So we went to the front and stood by door and finally he came over to let us pay. We were normally tipping 20% because that is what we TIP in U.S., but this service was so bad then when the machine asked for a tip, I put in 10%, the server then cleared the tip and said I was required to leave 15%, I asked why and said I was tipping based on the horrible service and he just kept clearing the % of Tip until I put in 15%, I wanted to see manager as I don't think that is even legal but decided to let it be and write...

I've waited way to long to review this pub. We try to come to Quebec yearly and it's usually in April which is still a bit cold and the end of the off season for them. The times we've come, we really got to appreciate the warmth and friendliness from the people of Quebec. It's almost like going to a local pub where everyone acts like they know you. It was great chatting with the locals and they even bought me and my wife a round of the local maple liquor (which was very tasty by the way). The bartender (who was stellar BTW) told us that it's a very popular watering hole for the folks in the local service industry after hours. Now to the food. The first time we went, we had the stew which was excellent. On our last trip, they had a special winter offering. Fondue! Now I'm no stranger to fondue and I had a little trepidation when I saw it came from a bag. This was quickly left behind when it came out in super hot cast iron pot that bubbled and left a frond that was perfection! Couple this with fresh french bread, sausage and incredibly flavorful sauerkraut that was super flavorful and it was absolutely delicious! Service, friendliness (customers and the bartender), affordability and great food, I can't recommend...
