My fiancé and I were on our way to our favorite cocktail bar when we stumbled upon this place and thought we might have found our new neighborhood spot. The space is beautiful with a great ambiance. We were greeted warmly with a big smile and seated at a cozy table for two.
Unfortunately, the experience quickly shifted when our server arrived. He was a large man who leaned over me from behind, completely in my space, which felt intimidating and uncomfortable. He seemed impatient, halfway through our order he walked away, and we had to call him back to finish. When we did, his dismissive “yea yea” made us feel rushed and unwelcome.
The cocktails themselves were excellent. Both delicious and beautifully presented. We had also ordered nuts to go with our drinks, but when my fiancé asked about them, the server gave him a disgusted look, raised his voice as he walked away and replied, “yeaaaaaaa I only have a pair of hands.” I was shocked. His attitude was jarring and completely out of place for such an elegant bar. Not long after, we watched him raise his voice at two elderly women sitting nearby, who looked just as confused and uncomfortable as we felt.
We decided to finish our drinks, pay the bill, and leave (we still tipped, knowing the rest of the staff, who were kind and professional, shouldn’t be penalized). It’s truly disappointing, because this could have easily become a new favorite of ours. Sadly, because of the service we experienced, we won’t...
Read moreWe enjoyed our experience at Le Bijou. We presented the diamond we found in our room in exchange for the tapas. The tapas included 2 tiny portions of orzo as well as 2 peppers drizzled with sauce/vinaigrette. I ordered a bloody Caesar but when I checked the bill, it showed that I had received the house special bloody Caesar, which is not what I had requested. We also ordered the truffle fries. The sauces were put on the side to accomodate my husband's aversion to garlic. There was live jazz music but the musicians took an extended break of 25 minutes, when musicians should only take a 15 minute break in order to maintain the interest of the audience. Overall, the experience was good; not excellent because the food and drinks were overpriced even though taking into consideration that the food price is compensating for the musicians. But the prices are fixed and the same for times when there are no...
Read moreWould not recommend. I ordered a signature cocktail off the menu, Le Fruit Interdit, a riff on a smoked old fashioned, a 26$ cocktail that was no where near worth the price. When I asked to change the drink I was confronted by a very defensive server that cleary didn't care about costumer needs and experience. The drink was off balance, but when I asked for a change I was told that my drink was a strong cocktail, insinuating that I was in the wrong for not liking it. In the end I asked to change for a Last Word (worth 19$ on the menu) but they still charged me for the 26$ one. I surely won't return, really not worth the expense. Don't waste your time and money, there's much better...
