Ugh. This is a tough one. The workers were lovely, ready with warm greetings and friendly service throughout. However, the food was terrible. Hands-down the worst crepe I've ever had. We each ordered the savory #6 with a buckwheat crepe. We requested goat cheese in lieu of the swiss it was meant to come with.
It was served looking dry and uninviting, and only went downhill from there. There was far more crepe than ingredients, and disappointingly flavorless. After my first bite I ended up unfolding it, looking for the mushrooms, egg, cheese, asparagus, and bechamel sauce the menu described. Inside I found almost nothing. There was maybe a quarter of an egg smeared inside a crepe much too big for its lack of ingredients. The thinnest slivers of mushrooms sparingly clung to the driest crepe to ever live, with sad spears of soggy asparagus, goat cheese being the most plentiful ingredient - enough to cover two slices of baguette - and bechamel sauce that more resembled southern gravy (in appearance, not in flavor) than the rich sauce it longed to be. I scraped what I could, and laughingly where I scraped off was sometimes indistinguishable from the areas unfolded, yet untouched.
I asked our waitress for salsa, hoping to give this sad dish some flavor and life (I was truly grasping for a way to make this dish edible), to which she replied that, "It's dry, right? The buckwheat tends to be dry." She suggested a side of bechamel sauce, as they didn't have salsa. The extra "sauce" was flavorless, just like the crepe it was meant to improve.
Oh, the drinks. The vegetable juice he ordered was V-8, until proven otherwise, and the mocha with whipped cream was pretty, but undrinkable.
Hands-down one of the worst meals I've ever had. However, our waitress was lovely, but this place...
Read moreI don't like leaving negative reviews, but my family had an awful experience at this place. I have two young boys and they were looking forward to trying their first crepes in Quebec City. When we arrived there were two people reading the menu at the front window. We opened the door and saw a sign that said "wait here to be seated". So we squeezed our family into the very small entrance and waited for about 30 minutes. All the while people were trying to leave the restaurant and my family had to squeeze ourselves together to stay at the waiting area of the doorway as people exited by us. Finally, when a host came to take seat us, a woman from outside the restaurant sprung into the doorway and said we had cut them online and that we had cut many people. I recognized her as the woman that was reading the menu outside earlier, so I explained that we thought they were just reading the menu, because the sign clearly said to wait in the doorway, not out on the sidewalk. Well, not only did the waiter believe her over us and sat her ahead of us, he told us we must go to the end of a line that had now formed on the sidewalk! I have read through the reviews and it seems this is a common problem with their entryway. The sign is not clear. Thankfully when we left, we were able to get seated at crepe restaurant that is one block away (look it up, it has a similar name to this place). The crepes their were amazing, so it must have...
Read moreI would have loved to leave a higher review as the crêpes were very good, however the service was not. I came here for dinner with my partner and our 11-month-old baby. They provided a high chair for her, which we appreciated. We ordered drinks and after waiting for our food for 45 minutes the server confessed that our order had been given to another table and assured us they would prepare our crêpes immediately. In the end, we waited over an hour for 2 crêpes which we hardly had the time to eat and took the rest to go since it was way past our daughter's bed time. To compensate for the inconvenience, our server offered us 20% off our bill and the second beer on the house. However, we saw more than 3 groups of people arrive after us and leave before us. It felt like our server had forgotten about us but insisted we had to pay for our food since in the end we ate the food they brought us, to which I responded that this did not seem reasonable under the circumstances. We didn't have much of a choice since it was already close to 9pm at this point. The server indicated that if we had an issue, she could call her supervisor but that it would take an hour for her to get there. Of course, we did not have the luxury of time to wait for a resolution so we paid and left. If you have no time constraints, the food is good. If you have less than an hour to eat, don't come here!
TLDR: food was good,...
