Le Mezzé Taverna Grecque — Restaurant in Quebec

Loved this place! My husband and I love Greek food and were disappointed by the trendy Italian place that had been recommended by our hotel the night before. I did some research about restaurants that were not in the touristy part of town and came upon this gem. So glad I did! When I called to make a reservation, they said they were fully booked, but we got ready for dinner and decided to press our luck. We arrived a little after 7, and fortunately they were able to find us a table. The waitress explained how the menu worked, and we ordered some tasty house sparkling Greek wine (surprisingly delicious!), a few appetizers such as feta red pepper spread and the Greek sausage, and then we split a big Greek salad and a half pound of grilled octopus with a side of grilled veggies. Each table also comes with pita, bread, olive oil, and balsamic with honey. We stuffed ourselves silly and each had two glasses of wine. All told, we spent $140 Canadian dollars which is about $108 American dollars. We had spent more the night before for mediocre food, only one drink each, and left the restaurant hungry. Omg! Literally everything was so exquisite with exceptional taste. We were a party of 4 people and ordered all food items to share. We had the melitazanosalata, calamari, tarama, an assortment of bread, olives for the table (no charge for this item), spanakopita, daily mezzes, briam, Greek potatoes, grilled vegetables, feta special mezze, grilled octopus, giant grilled prawns, grilled lamb chops, and all the desserts except the daily dessert. The service was excellent. The food is chef's kiss. The entire wine selection is imported from Greece. Very good tasting wine and cocktails. The location is also great. I've never been to Greece, but I truly felt this restaurant to be authentic and a superb representation of food and dining in Greece. I highly recommend this restaurant and the food items I mentioned, but I'm sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Everything tastes so damn good. We literally could have ordered our entire meal twice that's how delicious it was. I can't wait to return and especially as I live in Québec City. I will be bringing friends and family here for sure. Went here around 9:40 and was told that the kitchen was closed. I inquired why that was when they state their closing time is 10. One of the employees stated that they will close whenever they want to close. I was excited to try this place but I won't be back. We walked 5 minutes down the street to Cochon Dingue which also closes at 10 and we're told no problem the kitchen closes at 9:55 (it was 9:45) and we ate a terrific meal.

In response to the owner, no I don't think you are a Mcdonald's their service is considerably better than yours. If you are the owner you should be ashamed. Our meal at Cochon Dingue was fresh cooked and delicious. If you post a closing time then you serve customers until that closing time not some arbitrary time before then.
