Bügel Fabrique de Bagels on Rue Crémazie in Québec City is a charming spot that combines warm service, a relaxed ambiance, and outstanding breakfast options. One of the highlights is its lovely terrace, shaded by a large leafy tree — the perfect place to enjoy a summer morning. The breakfast plates are fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented, often featuring their house-made bagels that strike a delicious balance between the Montreal and New York styles.
A favorite among locals and visitors alike, the “Le Poussin” — a bagel with fried egg and cheese — is a must-try, especially when paired with their homemade jams. The menu offers great variety, and the quality of the ingredients shines through in every bite. Service is always friendly, attentive, and welcoming, making you feel right at home.
Before leaving, don’t miss the chance to buy a bag of freshly baked bagels to take home — a wonderful way to extend the experience beyond your visit. Whether you’re starting your day or looking for a peaceful, flavorful brunch, Bügel is a true Québec City gem and a spot I return to every time I’m in town. Highly...
Read moreIt's clear that locals love these bagels, so here's my attempt at an honest review as a visitor.
I visited Bügel Fabrique on a weekday, sitting outside, and by myself. The shop had high reviews so I was excited. The shop also has a cute patio out front w enough shade on a sunny day. I observed folks pull up, run in and run out w bags of bagels so it's clear people may love and frequent: therefore, take my review with a grain of salt.
Service upon arrival was friendly. The two staff behind the counter were very kind despite my limited French. I'm thankful for their kindness. There were two staff managing drinks and orders; it was clear that the staff:customer ratio was unfair, leading to poorer service for those dining in.
For a bagel place the bagel should be good! Mine was dense (picture attached) and flavorless. The veggie pate and jam were fine but overall uninspiring and didn't add any real flavor to the breakfast.
I'm still pretty shocked to see all the 5 star reviews. Save your bagel $ for a flight...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. Arrived, and to be fair it was a little busy with most tables occupied. The owner or manager was able to make us a table which was good. We ordered basic bagels nothing more complex than peanut butter and jelly. It took over 20 minutes for the bagels to come out. They were barely toasted and it cost a small fortune with two drinks… they forgot or didn’t take the order for the third.
It’s in a cute spot and I’m sure it’s has a nice neighborhood vibe. But for time conscious tourists in was a big fat let down.
Edit Owner’s comments are much appreciated. My advice would be just let your customers know, so they can then be prepared...
