Super nice staff, but honestly? Overpriced for the quality. Not worth it. Won’t be back, wouldn’t recommend. Not sure why its so popular
Our first meal in Quebec… and wow, it was disappointing
We came here because it was close to our hotel and we had have amazing bagels in Montreal so we wanted to try the ones here……Not even close.
The staff were very very nice the moment we walked in, but actually getting service was like pulling teeth. Took forever to get our order, and when the food finally came, drinks were missing for a good 20 min.
We kept trying to get the waitress’s attention to ask about our drinks, when we finally did, she left to “check” on them and never came back.
We had to flag down another server, and surprise! They had not put in our drinks order. By the time they arrived, we were already done eating.
Now, about the food: mid would be generous. My “The Pacifique” salmon bagel was tiny (i know Canadian bagels are smaller but this was WAY small and thin) dry, and had barely any salmon, it had no flavor!!! In Montréal, the salmon was falling out of the bagel, it was juicy and flavorful was 1000/10. Here? Sad, flavorless, and overpriced. My mom’s “Swiss bagel” was literally a slice of supermarket cheese on bread. Sides are extra and were $4-$5 each, potatoes were fine, salad was laughably small.
On top of all that, it was so loud and chaotic that we left feeling completely overwhelmed and overstimulated.
Between trying to get the staff’s attention, eating boring food, and then seeing the $50 bill for 2 people just made that annoying experience into a horrible one.
Bottom line: nice staff, terrible everything else. I would not recommend this place, and I definitely won’t be...
Read moreThe staff was extremely disrespectful. I was quietly sitting at my table when I noticed a sign on the board that read “ask us for our menu.” I went to the counter and politely asked for the menus. At that moment, a young Quebecois man who had been working in the kitchen approached me, visibly angry. Holding a menu in each hand, he waved them next to his face and, in a loud and aggressive tone, said in french which translated as:
“ Ma’am, you want the menus?! Please wait 30 seconds, I was planning to come to your table!”
His body language was so hostile that even my husband, who was seated far from the scene, noticed and came over to ask him to speak more respectfully. Despite the confrontation, he never apologized. We decided to leave the restaurant...
Read moreLocated in a very quaint area. We were seated right away. Although my French is limited, the server was very welcoming and explained that the menu was in French but explained it throughly. Surprisingly upon entering is the huge brick wood burning oven that’s pumping out freshly baked sesame seed bagels. I ordered the l’aissette brunch. It came with all the meats (bacon, sausage, capres, pulled pork - yes, pulled pork!). My wife had the smoked salmon benedict. All breakfast platters come with their signature bagel and a dollop of cream cheese aka schmear. Included with the meal was refilable filtered coffee.
The ambience is rustic. Menu was drawn out in chalk above. Everything was made fresh. Sorry, no pictures taken because the food...
