I would like to express my disappointment with my recent experience at this bar. I am a vegetarian and before arriving, I always check the food menus. Their menu had a vegetarian pizza on it but when we arrived and received the menu it didn’t have this. So my friend asked the bartender to see if it is possible for me to order from outside while the rest of us can stay and order from here. He assured me that I could bring in vegetarian food from outside. Although he later on made a sarcastic remark, "Yeah for sure, but good luck finding a veggie around here!" was the first red flag which was totally uncalled for.

Despite his assurance, when I arrived and his boss saw and objected to my food, the bartender, instead of owning what he said, completely changed his stance denying any agreements on that! He escalated the situation by shouting and being highly disrespectful, even though I made efforts to deescalate the situation twice. All of my friends confirmed what he originally agreed to but it made him even more mad. We left the bar paying for all the drinks we barely touched. However, I was appalled when he had the audacity to actually demand a tip after such a rude behavior. This experience was extremely unpleasant, and I am very dissatisfied with both the waiter and the overall service at this establishment. Hypothetically, even if I made a mistake, even if all of our friends heard him wrong, he didn’t have the right to shout at us like that. We are your customers ffs! Very unprofessional and with sarcastic remarks left and right. I would never return to this place nor I recommend it...

Historical place with amazing ambient, but upon arrival from the very beginning, the service and attitude were basically non existing- from having to grab your own menu at the door to waiting for a drink for 30 minutes while only 3 tables were occupied in the whole pub. They paid no attention to us and the two guys were absolutely uncoordinated (3 times they came to our table and asked the same questions and both of them at different times). We asked for food and received an answe, "we will start serving in 1 hour" while his buddy was carrying plates of food to the table next to us. He didn't want to bring the paymeny device to the table and was awkward because his colleague carried it to another table to get paid...After serving us wrong drinks, the server with a baseball cap, a man purse had the audacity to yell at my friend and ask him in deep and rude demeanor as he was paying the bill, "why no tip?!"- as if that's a question we were supposed to answer....

Really fun and energetic staff. I particularly liked the lunch servers. I don't know how they kept up the energy and humor.

I stopped by for lunch and had a beer and the crab cakes, which were really good. Then I realized they have hard liquor too, so I stopped back for a whiskey and a smoked meat sandwich- also a good choice. I actually wanted to order the French onion soup on my second visit because I had heard theirs was good, but they were sold out. And because I'm not a quitter, I tried once more to get the soup the next day, but they were out of the cheese. I ended up going elsewhere that 3rd time and my server was so apologetic, I wanted to give him a tip anyway. He seemed genuinely disappointed that he couldn't get me what I wanted even though I never even sat down at a table that last time.

I sat outside both times since the weather was so perfect. Just as well, since the inside was overly hot. Probably really cozy in the...

N estled in the heart of Old Quebec, Pub L’Oncle Antoine is a gem that perfectly blends history, ambiance, and exceptional service. Set in a 17th-century stone cellar, the pub radiates charm and warmth, offering a cozy atmosphere that transports you back in time. The drink selection is impressive, featuring an array of local craft beers, wines, and spirits to suit every palate. Their mulled wine, in particular, is a must-try, especially during the colder months. The food menu, while simple, complements the drinks perfectly, with hearty options like sandwiches and charcuterie boards that highlight Quebec’s culinary traditions. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about making your visit enjoyable. Whether you’re a history buff, a beer enthusiast, or just looking for a unique spot to unwind, Pub L’Oncle Antoine offers an unforgettable experience. It’s a must-visit for anyone exploring Old Quebec!

This is not a full extensive review, but this pub boasted the best french onion soup in Quebec City. I only had the one, but it is by far my favourite french onion soup I have had. I don't have this dish often, but in Toronto, they don't do this dish justice. The soup is hot, fresh from the pot, cheese is crispy and gooey, but the baguette or bread they use wasn't fully maintained. Maybe just me though. When you eat the soup, it is an actual onion like broth, there is a clean finish to every bite, and the cheese is tasty. I wish I spent more time eating this Canadian dish. The pub itself seems like a historic building, almost a dungeon, but not dingy. The seating in the side room looks a little cramped but we got to sit close to the bar. Staff were friendly, despite our lack of French. It seems like a solid spot for drinks, but maybe not for everyone. If you look dark historic building vibes, it should fit your fancy.
