If there was 0 star i would give that for service Worst service ever I have got at rafaella in quebec city
There is no enough staff at all. We ordered 2 pastas, 1 pizza, one chicken wings and one bloody ceaser cocktail Pasta was good but too much butter in it Wings were tasting worst and pizza had too much salt and the dough was not at all good And cocktail was never served even 10min after we finished our food so we had to cancel it Talking about service the food was delayed. After dining we waited for 15min for a waiter. One showed and we asked for cheque(the person who took the order) never showed up. Later we asked another lady since he was busy at another table taking an order and she replied only he can take payment. We waited 10 more min. Later a table behind us asked another lady the same that they were waiting for a bill for a long time and they wanted to leave and we mentioned the same and she freecked out on us. Saying the guy who took your order has to take the bill( your table, table in front of you, behind you, beside you) and walked away on us and started to complain to co-workers behind bar counter/water filling station. She come back to collect empty plates on different table and threw a cup with ketchup packets on the floor and just walked away After 15min of wait after that we got pos to pay. And we were asked for the tip after all this experience. First after having dinner we wanted to pay tip only for pasta but later decided not to after service experience but the waiter said its compulsory to pay tip, if not he had to pay out of his pocket( whoch doesn't make sense to me) Anyway we ended up paying him a small amount and left This is not at all acceptable as...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place. Really charming place with what looked like a good menu in Old Quebec. Our server seemed like he was 15 or 16. He tried hard and was nice. Hey, you need to get experience somehow. That didn’t bother us. However, We were pretty disappointed with the food. The kids menu was actually really good. My daughter had lasagna which she liked. It was pretty basic. My wife and I shared a started Caesar salad which lacked dressing and had those store bought bacon bits, not actually cooked bacon bits. My wife had spaghettoni bolognese which is spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were packaged frozen meatballs. Not good, terrible actually. I had bucatini di mare. Bucatini noodles in a rose sauce with tiger shrimp, calamari, scallop bits, clams and pecorino romano. First off, the noodles were undercooked, not al dente but actually under cooked and chewy. The sause was not even close to a rose sauce. It was just a basic red tomato sauce with no flavour. I counted 1 small piece of calamari, 2 small bits of scallops, a few regular shrimp (definitely not tiger), 3 small clams and 3 mussels. No sign of the pecorino romano. I ate the seafood but could not finish the noodles. My wife and I left pretty disappointed and still hungry having not been able to finish our food. I don’t like to post negative reviews but our dinner was unsatisfactory for the price we paid. I expect homemade food. This stuff was akin to buying a jar of tasteless pasta sauce and a bag of meatballs and slapping it together. I’m nit sure about the rest of the food here but at least what we had...
Read moreWe recently visited Rafaella restaurant expecting a warm and welcoming environment for our family, especially since the restaurant promotes itself as kid-friendly with a children’s menu and high chairs. Sadly, our experience was incredibly disheartening.
Our 1-year-old was happily babbling during our visit which is something completely natural for a child her age, and was not screaming or crying. Despite this, the manager came over to us three separate times, insisting that we “control” her because she was apparently “bothering” other customers. This was not only surprising but deeply upsetting, especially since the restaurant was half-empty at the time and no one around us seemed visibly disturbed.
As parents, we felt singled out, unwelcome, and deeply uncomfortable. What should have been a pleasant evening turned into an experience filled with stress and embarrassment. We ultimately decided to leave before our food even arrived because we no longer felt like we belonged there.
It’s disheartening that a place claiming to cater to families would make us feel so unwelcome for simply allowing our child to be herself. We hoped for understanding and inclusivity but were instead met with judgment and a lack of empathy. We would urge other parents of young children to think carefully before dining at Rafaella. Truly unbelievable behaviour...
