First night at the Palace Royal we order room service from Beffroi. The service was surprisingly fast. The food, Poutine Homard and Fish N Chips were excellent. Things went south when I picked up one of the tree napkins that came with our dinner the second one was disgusting it had been used to wipe I don’t even want to think what. The incident was reported to Thomas the concierge.
Second night, we show up at the Beffroi for our 18:30 reservation. Due to a booking error on MY part we didn’t have one, the Maître D offered un to go to the bar, using a mobility scooter that was even better for me. Elodie greeted us smiling with a very friendly attitude. We ordered our cocktails and our dinner: Filet mignon with shrimps for my wife and rib steak for me. I was almost finished my Old Fashion when Elodie shows up with warm bread and butter. We slowly nibble on the bread then our meals arrive cooked to perfection served on a warm plate. We the order desert and coffee. Over all a very very pleasant dinner experience and I was happy to give Elodie a 25% tip.
Third night, since our experience the night before at the bar, I requested to be seated there again. Just like the previous night we were the third table in the place. Andrew greeted us nicely and 5 minutes later took our orders. Cosmo for my wife and Old Fashion again for me, white wine, Salmon and Shrimps for my wife and tuna steak for me, at this point Andrew mentioned the tuna steak is almost raw, just quickly seared on each side and I replied “I sure hope so; It’s the only way to serve it”. Then things get ugly; I do not know why Andrew had to prioritise the orders from the restaurant, after all we are customers from the same restaurant. He would prepare drinks and cocktails for the servers from the restaurant before ours. So 25 minutes later we finally get our cocktails. I barely had time to take a sip from my drink that the server arrives with our dinner. So here we are with fresh drinks, our dinner on the table and no flatware in sight. My wife’s salmon and shrimps were very nice. My side of shrimps were cold and tuna steak was cold and almost well done. Go figure that one out: Over cooked and cold!
So I paid and left leaving untouched drinks and half eaten meals on the table.
I mentioned the situation the Maître D on our way out. His reaction was “I am very sorry about al this Mr. Lapierre but what do you expect me to do about it?”
At this point we left and we will never go back or recommend this place to anyone.

You said “please do not hesitate to tell our team immediately” I did mention my disappointment to the server who brought us our dinner and to Andrew the server who took our orders. Other than that: I am alone, I have a tour to go whale watching which is a comparatively early morning for when the rest of the town opens (I am picked up at 0840 and I don't know if they'll be early at all). Not quickly knowing what else is open or where they might have protein heavy vegetarian friendly options, I chose to dine downstairs of my hotel, at this restuarant. First waiter was not eager to seat me, when he did, I was eventually informed they have no breakfast menu (BS) and asked if I'd like to eat from the buffet. Let me look and see what's on it, as again, I'm vegetarian. Can't find the buffet (😒🤔) I mean it clearly existed as there were others who were eating, but in the meantime I ran into another server. I asked her about the buffet and the menu and she says (surprise!) There is a breakfast menu. Then she starts to get sassy with me when I say I'll will just order despite it being a limited menu because I don't have time to go anywhere else. She says "you have an hour" yes dear an hour to find someplace, get there, order, be served, eat, pay my bill, and get back and finish getting ready for cold weather out on the water. That's not a lot of time. She says "I'll let them know you're in a hurry" Not what I said, but if I can eat already, then fantastic. My seat has been taken by someone else the waiter placed there and then he directs me to another table - in someone else's section. Ah, I see what's happening; you're not making enough money from my butt taking up a 2 person table as you would if you seated 2 people and THAT is why you are playing dumb about the menu. My new waiter was much nicer and welcoming and so he was tipped accordingly; one person can tip more than the minimum, you know. At 12:05 a gentleman called me from your restaurant telling me I could not come at 1:30. That the buffet closed at 1:00 pm and we needed to come right away at 12:30 and they would “ keep it open “ for us.
I told him we had a reservation and he stated that this was the only option and they were closing. His reservation website was wrong. We were in the pool at our hotel and there was NO way we could get dressed and ready with our children and to your restaurant in 25 minutes let alone have a relaxing holiday dinner. I told him this. He said sorry there is nothing he could do.
I asked to speak to the manager. He stated HE WAS THE MANAGER.
I hung up and called the hotel directly. The woman who answered told me the restaurant closed at 2pm. I asked to speak to the hotel manager. I got their voice and did not leave a message.
I called back again and I asked the front desk to locate the manager. She then told me the restaurant actually opened back up at 5 PM. We were NEVER given this option by the man who called us. He said they closed at 1pm. Never giving us the option to come later.
They transferred me back to the restaurant and the same gentleman answered who I originally spoke too. I asked him why he didn’t tell me they opened back at 5??? He said because “I didn’t have a reservation for that time. “
Then a nice lady got on the phone and she asked me what happened. I told her and I asked her if he really was the manager? She said no he wasn’t NOT. So he lied to me.
She then asked if we would like to come later. I told her no. That the whole experience had ruined this for us, being lied too twice and having our dinner cancelled on us. I cannot imagine doing that to a family. Especially...
