What is this place? First of all, the guy behind the counter was far from being nice and didn’t welcom us at all. We were looking forward to have this culinary experience. So you have to order up front and then go sit down. Ok fine, no big deal! Then we got up to get 2 orders of « cod pastries » so greasy and moist, oil was dripping out of each bite we took. Then we got up to get the main plate: Chicken Breast with coleslaw and fries: I am asking you people: Where is the Portuguese taste in that? And beleive me when I say that I know Portuguese Food. The chicken was covered with a layer of what I considered being a weird, goowy “off white” tastless sauce. Soooo disappointing!!! Then the coleslaw: Can they put shredded cabbage in their mayonnaise? What’s up with that? The fries? The weirdo who said that these were the best in town is living a double life as an undercover comedian trying to make it downtown YQB. They tasted like frozen fries to me. Having said that if you have to have bad service from the start, to go get your orders every time and to finally get your trays back yourslef, why would you pay Tip?!? Which I did when I paid at the biginning... 15%, unbelievable, if I would have known. So there you have it. Don’t bother going. We’re...
Read moreFood was overall very good but white meat of chicken a bit try. I can't give this place more than 2 stars tho due to the service. I'm an American that travels abroad regularly. I ordered rice and they gave me fries. When I politely asked for what I ordered, I was mocked and told "everyone makes mistakes" implying that I couldn't remember my own order. I was with my wife and 2 year old and 4 year old (I wasn't some drunk off the street). It wasn't until I threatened to leave a bad review that the owner begrudgingly gave us what we ordered. As I was leaving, I tried to tell the owners the food was excellent and they ignored me. They rationed out tiny ketchups to us and 1 napkin at a time. They then proceeded to mock my family to other diners before we exited (again a 2 year old and 4 year old). I guess if you're a local then maybe a different experience, but I wouldn't come back here and wouldn't recommend other Americans...
Read moreIf I was Portuguese I would sue this place! Relied on all those reviews saying "excellent paella", "great chicken" and went to this place! I think either those reviews were paid for or those people never had a real paella or Portuguese chicken 😖 It was one of the worst eating out experiences for me and my partner! I lived in Spain and I know how a real paella is like! It was super tasteless and sloppy! The chicken that was sitting on it seemed so dried and a couple of days old I didn't dare to eat it! "Portuguese chicken" has nothing Portuguese. I am not sure if it was even grilled! The portion was so small and we had to pay for it 50$ and left the restaurant with a strong lasting taste of canola oil in our mouths! Well people were nice but we didn't visit a social club but a restaurant! Sincere friendly advice: eat a sandwich, keep your money you would be...
