WARNING: This place overcharges.
So I ordered the two scoop option for my kid $5.75. One scoop bubblegum flavour and the other mint chocolate chip. As the cashier was scooping out the first flavour she asked “do you want to split it into two cups”. Not a bad idea I thought to myself, being that we were headed back onto the road & I wasn’t sure how the eating, mixing, melting, falling asleep journey was going to go. “Yes” I replied, “sounds like a good idea”. Finding out later that it’s only a good idea if you’re a scam artist trying to pull money out of the pockets of drive-through tourist clientele. I’d like to think most people would conclude that splitting a $5.75 two scoop order into two cups would NOT equate to charging two single scoops at $4.25 a piece for a total of $8.50. But this is exactly what happened! She got me. She assumed correctly that the tired traveler would just unconsciously pay the bill. However I did catch on when the tip option came up, so I didn’t. Yes, I should have said something there & then, & got her to dump the two flavours in one cup for a savings of $4.25, but I didn’t. I had just finished a high-carb dinner next door at Leo Burrito & just didn’t have any fight left. Anyway hopefully I can save some unsuspecting tourists (or locals) from the 2 scoop split scam. On the plus my kid enjoyed the more than...
Read moreI've tried this place for the first time 2 years ago and was blown away then. I promised myself if i had the opportunity to go there again that I would and I did! Still as good as it was in 2018. I had a shrimp taco which is served in a flour tortilla and also a chicken taco served in a corn tortilla. The prawn taco was just okay. It was lacking some flavour and it needed a sauce to juice things up and save it from being too dry. I was also disappointed that there were only 5 prawn on top of too much mixed garden lettuces. I ate it all but i would not recommend it. The chicken taco however was very tasty, just saucy enough and with plenty of chicken breast chunks and the corn tortilla was simply delicious. It wad a great combination of flavours and I would recommend this to others. Next I had a double scoop ice cream, one scoop of Raspberry Cheesecake and the other Banana Cream pie. Both were delicious. I would recommend that everyone give Leo Burrito a try and check it out...
Read moreStraight up opinion after coming here for many years. Your burritos are great. Always tasty. And the chips are great too. Fish tacos. Great.
Every time I get a burrito I have to chuckle at the sample burrito above the til. In all my visits I’ve never gotten a burrito that looked nearly the size of those monsters. Recently I was told if I squished my burrito down it would resemble the one on the wall, but why not just make a sample slightly smaller that the real deal.
Under-promise and over-deliver?
The real kicker I find is the ice cream. I finally caved and bought one knowing exactly what I was getting myself into. $8.25 for a 2 “scoop” waffle cone.
That’s quite possibly the most expensive cone I’ve ever had. What I got was not an 8 dollar cone.
I get it though. Leo Burrito is targeted towards hungry tourists from Alberta, not the locals.
Customer service with the new owners/employees is marginal at best. I’m sure hoping it’ll...
