Without a doubt, Occam’s Razor is the most interesting place in red deer. From the eclectic decor to the forgotten classic music, walking in feels like you’ve been transported to a european gastro normally seen in cities like madrid or rome. The great style and great music definitely set the stage for what’s to come. The service is bar none. Friendly and wildly knowledgeable while remaining down-to-earth is something pretty rare in places like this. It’s easy to see that every single person working in this place is passionate about what they’re creating here. The cocktail menu is something to behold. Matt, one of the owners, is a renowned mixologist who created the menu himself - and it shows. Each recipe is unique and has something to offer every kind of taste. Finally we come to the menu. Phillip is the latest addition to Occam’s and has brought along with him an incredible set of dishes. We were able to work through 5 of the items during our evening and can’t wait to get back to try the rest. To name a few, “The corner piece” is a deconstructed lasagna comprised of, admittedly simple, deep fried pasta and freshly made marinara. A modern twist on this classic meal will get your nostalgia roaring. The vegetarian “Top Sea-Cret” are scallop inspired mushrooms that really highlight the creativity of this new chef. Just when I thought I couldn’t be more surprised, Campfire Memories hit me harder than any other dish: I don’t know how he makes, cooks or delivers the homemade marshmallow filling, but I don’t care. I want it again. In closing, I could write 1000 more words about this place, but they wouldn’t do it justice. Go there. Drink, eat and be wow’d.

We went here recently for my wife’s birthday, it was not out first time here but it was our first time getting food, and it was amazing! We’re both vegetarian and my wife is trying to eat more of a vegan diet so it’s sometimes hard to eat out, so we were very happy to see that we could eat here. I ordered The Valley of The King but they were out of eggplant, so the chef came out to discuss options and went with oyster mushrooms instead, which tasted amazing, and he came out again to talk about where they source their mushrooms from and how he wants to prove that vegan options can “be more than a stuffed pepper” which was nice to see that they’re passionate about their food. Because it was my wife’s birthday, they also brought a little dessert for her which was gorgeous, vegan, and delicious. The drinks here are amazing, so creative and tasty, and I love the option to roll the dice for a surprise drink. Will definitely be coming back soon!

Occam's Razor is my husband and my favourite place to go for delicious cocktails! We roll the dice and let the fates dictate what we are served. It's a fun way to try new drinks. The fact that the wonderful owners are also the best bartenders we have yet to meet means that we always love what we are served. We take our family and friends there when they come to visit us and they have all loved it as well. We have also eaten at Occam's Razor and are so impressed with the unique and DELICIOUS food that Chef Phil creates. We love that he sources locally and that everything he makes is so thoughtfully planned and made. Sooooo good! Best cocktails, amazing food, friendliest team, and the coziest atmosphere... we can't speak highly enough of our experiences there. You should definitely go!

I don’t even know where to start, we came out for the mr’s birthday we had never heard of or been to occcams razor he wanted to go somewhere outside the box and this seemed like the best choice for that. Making a reservation was super easy, we were emailed back very quickly. From the second you walk through the door the atmosphere was great our table was beautifully set up and we were greeted so nicely. Drinks were ordered and the birthday boy asked if they could make him something tasty with spiced rum as he didn’t see anything on the menu that caught his eye. He was told of course and asked a couple questions about likes dislikes and allergies…. They quickly returned and both my drink “borealism” and his spiced rum surprise were DELICIOUS. We ordered supper I had wooded acres and he had off grid luxury. They were brought out by the chef which was a nice touch he was so polite ! We both couldn’t stop talking about how delicious it was. We weren’t really in the mood for dessert but with it being a dessert you can’t really skip it. We shared the red noses and numb fingers it was delicious and if you can win the hearts of 2 people who are not sweets fans you have done an incredible job! From the service, the atmosphere the food down to the table set up. everything blew us away thank you so much Occam’s Razor for an incredible dinning experience ! This is the kind of place red deer needed! I’d give you 10 starts if I could and I will be...

What can I say? This is a spot that defied all expectations almost immediately upon entering its doors. The cutting away of, or getting rid of all the unnecessary parts or pieces, leaving only the most important and required things, so that it can function at it's fullest and finest, ensuring the end result is the top of the tops.

And ontop of ask that jazzy stuff one best not forget too, that the brussel sprouts are too die for. Anyone brave enough to put those things on a menu best be getting it right in an exceptional way, and if left to my opinion I'd say that they nailed it about as hard and precise as something can be nailed. Way to go. Kinda surprised I had time to write this review, because most of the time in my day is usually consumed by telling anyone and everyone (strangers included) about how truly amazing the brussel sprouts are here, along with major props to the whole place itself! That includes staff, atmosphere, attitudes, selections, location, and everything else that I just can't seem to think of right now. Once again, NAILED IT!!!!!...
