Angkor Southeast Asian Delight — Restaurant in Regina

Firstly I have to confess I never enjoy writing a negative review as I m a very happy go lucky person…. I travel around and love exploring new places, food and meeting people and as usual I am doing a Cross Country Across Canada in the winter and wanted to grab a fresh hot meal while passing Regina, Saskatchewan but to my absolute disappointment I was greeted with a cold smile of the restaurant staff because I had entered at 9pm to grab a bite when their restaurant closes at 9:30 pm and instead of being welcoming to a customer who is walking into an absolutely empty restaurant I was first not even greeted but informed that if I can’t finish my dinner in 30 mins I would be asked to leave irrespective of being done with my dinner or not … which was honestly the worst customer experience ever … and instead of giving me a solution on how I could grab a bite I was having the 3 staff in the restaurant give me the weirdest stares so I could leave the premises and not ask them for any food for take away as well … and jus to let this restaurant owner know … I went close by to Regina Pho Restaurant located at 3137 Quance St , Regina after their business hours and jus asked for a take out and the owners greeted me in while they were having their dinner after closing hours and served me with some amazing hot Vietnamese Pho… Shame on you Angkor for such poor...

Food is great as always. Most likely the best in town. But the inability for Angkor for timely pickup times is a major problem - hence only two stars. No matter how much lead time you provide your order will never be ready at the indicated pickup time. The quickest time has been 30 minutes past the schedule pickup time to the worst being 2+ hours (even with ordering 6 hours ahead of time). I really think they do not even start preparing your food for pickup until you actually show up (even if you have pre-paid online). I have shown up at the expected pickup time and watched people sitting in the restaurant order and get their food before I got my the order I placed for pickup hours previously. I have grown so frustrated with their pickup services that will never order for pickup or delivery from Angkor unless I feel like wasting hours of my time waiting. The food is good so I wish Angkor would at at least be honest and would give the correct pickup time rather than having someone showing up then wait for such an unreasonable time. Worst experience in a restaurant ever! My family and I went there to have a good time but the waitress was very rude. While my parents were ordering, my brothers and I were socializing and the "waitress" basically shut us up coz "she cant hear the orders": this is coming from a person who is sitting right next to the customers. Then after we ordered, she asked us if we are sharing food as "the food we ordered is too much for us" : well if its too much we can always get it boxed if its too much. at the end we ended up finishing everything!!! She didn't even offered to fill up our glasses! After eating my family were socializing when all of a sudden she barged in and started cleaning up so we were forced to get out of our seats and pay! When my mother was paying we didn't tip her, since we had a very bad experience but she ASKED FOR A TIP AS SHE SAID "THE RESTAURANT IS BARELY PAYING HER". I would have told her that if that is the case she should complain to the government as she lives in Canada where there is a minimum wage but my mother, being the passive person she is,...
