Absolutely disgusted with the dishonesty and unreliable service at Home Depot Regina, Sask, Canada.
In early November 2020 we began a full house renovation, including a brand new kitchen and all new appliances (fridge, freezer, washer, dryer, stove and over the range microwave). Originally we had all these appliances ordered through Coast Appliances (over $10k). However, Home Depot Quance street location talked us into canceling our entire order with Coast Appliances and switch it to their store. The main rationale that got us to switch was the fact that our “Twins” Frigidaire side by side fridge and freezer were only a 3-4 week wait, as opposed to 3-4 month wait with Coast Appliances, and a slightly better price. That was their “big sell” and promise anyway...turned out to be a complete run around after run around nightmare. Nothing more than a scam to get us to shift our business.
Approximately 4 months after ordering we got a call from corporate office saying the fridge freezer are discontinued. We called the local store and they said to disregard and the phone call was not true.
Approximately 6 months after ordering we continue our regular follow up calls. The salesperson says the people who ordered the same fridge and freezer a few days before us had just received theirs and ours is expected any day.
Approximately 7 months after ordering we continue our follow up calls. The salesperson now indicated our PO was mysteriously canceled and he couldn’t explain how it happened. However, he now indicated he could re-order them but unfortunately the delivery date would be pushed to September 2021.
Today we got a call from corporate office indicating the fridge and freezer are now discontinued. WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE! LESSON LEARNED - HOME DEPOT CANADA IS NO BETTER THAN SLIMY USED CAR SALESPERSONS. LET ME TAKE A WILD GUESS...THESE GUYS ARE COMMISSION BASED SALARIES. STICK WITH THE REPUTABLE COMPANIES WHO TRULY SPECIALIZE IN APPLIANCES.
We designed our $40K kitchen around the dimensions of this fridge and freezer (and no there aren’t any other similar “Twins” that fit in the same space that we are aware of). To add more frustration to the story, they force you to pay 100% upfront and have had our $ since Nov 14/2020.
Time to step up and fix the issue Home Depot Canada and put your money where your mouth is! Your call....make this right or you’ll be paying for a full kitchen re-design to fit a different model fridge and freezer.
MAKE IT RIGHT AND I REMOVE THE POST AND STOP HERE. DONT MAKE IT RIGHT AND I WILL GO ON AND ON SPREADING THE SCAM STORY WITH EVERY REVIEW SITE AND MEDIA...
Read moreGood Evening, I am writing to let you know how incredibly disappointed I am in the service at the Home Depot at 1867 Victoria Avenue East in Regina, SK.
Here are the details of my poor experience: I attended to the store to purchase a lawn mower. A team member did assist me in finding the mower I wanted. I requested the team member confirm everything I needed was in the box before moving to the cashier for payment. Team member noted there were no batteries or charger in the box as they are high theft items. Member then left for 15 minutes to find the missing battery and charger. Upon return, I asked the team member to ensure everything else I needed was included as I live 200km away from the store. Team member assured me I would have everything I need. I proceeded to drive 200km home (Redvers, SK). The next morning when I went to assemble the lawn mower, I could not put the handle together as I was missing pieces. With no manual to work from (missing); I when online and downloaded the manual. I have confirmed form the downloaded manual that I am missing the bolts that attached the top handle to the mower deck, the side discharge, and the safety key to run the mower. I contacted seasonal lawn and garden supervisor – Jayden and was advised he would find the pieces I need and he would call me back when he did. (8:07AM – September 5, 2022). I contacted the store again today (3:04PM – September 6, 2022) as I did not hear back from Jayden. An individual working the department told me that Jayden is now off for a few days. He then advised me that I should load the mower back up and bring to the store and exchange. I expressed dissatisfaction on needing to drive another 400km, round trip, on my own time and expense to rectify this oversite and asked to get transferred to a store manager. Team member complied. Call was transferred to a number with no voicemail. I allowed the phone to ring for 5 minutes, then giving up and hanging up.
Home Depot – You need to do better. Based on my experience, I don’t expect anybody to read this or respond for that matter. I am incredibly disappointed and now will need to clear 4-5 hours of a day to, once again, travel to Regina (400km round trip) and attempt to get a lawn mower that can be assembled to ensure functionality.
My go-forward plan will be to ensure every media contact and consumer reporting website I know is made aware of this sequence of events to ensure other innocent people don’t end up going though the same situation at the...
Read moreI want to tell you about my horrible experience at Home Depot on Victoria. I went in to get a replacement for my door handle. I went to hardware and looked around and wasn't sure what I needed. I asked for help and the young man said someone would be there right away. Ten minutes later I asked again for help. After another ten minutes I asked the lady at check out if she could get me some help. I heard her call for help twice. No one came. A girl walked by me with a push ladder and I asked her if she worked in hardware. She said yes pretty sharply and said what do you want. I should have walked out then but I didn't I showed her the pic of what I wanted she tsked her tongue and said thats not hardware thats millworks, aisle 33 and waved her arm. My son and i walked over there and waited a few minutes before someone asked me if we needed help. I again showed him the pics and he said oh, those are over there down that aisle. I said I wasn't sure what I was looking for could he show me. He did BUT he had to open outside doors hanging on display to find them. How on earth was I supposed to know they would be behind a door. He told me that there were two to choose from black and silver. I said I wanted the silver one and he said it was sold out and the other store didn't have one either. He looked it up on his phone and said there were none on order. He said I should go line to home depot and see if I could get one there but I would have to pay the shipping to get it delivered. I was very distressed at this point and told him forget it I will go to Rona and get help there. I have always given my business to Home Depot as a loyalty thing because my eldest son works there in Saskatoon. I know his customers get way better service than this. So I have to think about this and see if I will come back and shop there. I waited 40 minutes in hardware waiting for help. My friends and husband said I should have given you 10 minutes and called it a day! I had to put one star because it wouldn't let me leave it at zero, I was looking for a...
