I was excited to see that Joey's is open again. We went for supper; two adults and two adult-ish children who were craving Joey's dino-nuggets, like from when they were younger. Alas, no dino-nuggets, but the food was still good. In fact, the food was very good. 5-stars good. The only complaint about the food was that my wife thought the Buddha Bowl was a bit too spicy, but then we reckoned that Buddhism is all about the suffering, so all is well. Definitely good to have this restaurant back, and we'll be hitting it up again going forward.

So if the food was 5-star good, then why the 4-star review? Well, let me tell you -- the service SUCKED with all caps. And I'd bold it and underline it if I could.

First, we were seated for about 15 minutes before anyone came to take our orders. Our waitress did the rounds -- took drink orders and food orders. No, wait! ... she forgot to take my order. She was ready to wrap it up and walk away and I had to call out to her that she still needs to take my order. Seriously. She mumbled something, but no one at our table could hear her.

Woeful sigh.

But wait, there's more. We ordered an appetiser, which she clearly thought was a main-dish food item because it only came out with the main courses. By that time it was cold, and redundant because everyone got their food at the same time. The point of the appetiser is to tide one over until the main dishes arrive. Right? And on top of that, two of the orders were in some way not correct.

Prior to the meals being served, she did not come over to check on us at all, to ask if anyone wanted refills on their drinks, or anything along those lines. In fact, I had to wave over another server (I think the manager / owner) in order to get some refills. The manager was apologetic, but that didn't help with the appetiser or continuously consistent horrible service from our waitress.

What made things worse is that there was another waitress running around doing what appeared to be a super-terrific job. Her customers looked happy. They received appetisers relatively quickly, followed by meals. The table beside us arrived after us and were practically done their meal by the time we received our food. A group two tables over had received appetisers and were well into their meals by the time we got served, and they were seated just a minute or two before us.

So 4-stars. The food was excellent. The service...

Updated: Visit today April 9, 2024 and had there all you can eat fish & Chips. They have increased the prices of “All you can eat” substantially. Before it was same price on menu but now almost increased by $5 from menu price.

Fish and chips are always good here.

Young lady server was very friendly and professional. She seems to be only server that but was doing great job all by herself.

This restaurant opened today. We went for dinner on very first day to taste food and experience opening crowd. Place was almost packed. We ordered three pieces of fish and chips, one order of Buddha Bowel with Mushy Pees on side. Both dishes were very good. I didn’t give five stars due to size of fish pieces. Size is smaller then what it used to be when this restaurant was operating before. Nevertheless it’s good to see that fish and chips restaurant is back in Regina. Our server Suleman was friendly and attentive. Paid $46,00 before...

My partner and I tried this place today for the first time, I was craving fish and chips, we went at 330 so we were the only ones in there for about half an hour. The server was really quick to help us with everything and also just generally friendly. The food came really quick and was delicious. We got tofish bites to start and then I got the joeys choice fish and chips and my partner got the tofish and chips (with no Cajun seasoning due to allergies) the food was awesome, sometimes fish and chips can be greasy but this wasn’t at all and the batter is some of the best I’ve had. The chips were super fresh and crispy even after I added malt vinegar and squeezed the rest of my lemon on top of them. Needless to say this will be our go to place for fish (and tofish) and chips from now on. The only thing I regret is not getting our servers name to give them a personal glowing review for how well we were taken care of...

Ordered for takeout tonight. Coleslaw was good (hard to screw that up). "Homecut" fries were frozen and reheated, mealy and grey. Coconut shrimp was soggy. Fish was decent but certainly not the best this city has to offer. But we paid $10 for 2 orders of the "seasonal vegetables" which were shown on the order page as fresh looking broccoli. Instead we got two containers that mostly were fried onions, the broccoli that was in it was grey from being overcooked. One of the containers was half full. I know fish and chips are a greasy meal, but this was soaked in oil. Sad. We had hoped to find a good fish and chips place near home. This isn't it. Won't be back.

We were really missing Fish and Chips Tuesdays when we found out this place was re-opening. We missed all you can eat fish and chips on Tuesday but went for all you can eat fish Tacos on Thursday. The Tacos were delicious. One point is there was way to much cabbage on it. I understand it's filler in place of Lettuce but it could be parred back. I need to order extra Pico next time but all in all it was delicious and will definitely go back. Very happy this place is open.
