We experienced the worst ever customer service at this restaurant today. I wouldn't even call it customer service. Infact, we had a BRUTAL experience by their server named Eve. We felt so disrespected and humiliated by Eve's behavior that we could not continue eating and had to leave the food at the table. After disrespecting us, she walked away to another male server and started talking about us while shaking her head and made fun of us. As if that wasn't enough, she came back and made sure to talk down on us while we were waiting at the front desk to make a payment with the restaurant supervisor named Sam.
My husband recently came to Canada and we have been visiting restaurants around so that he can see what Regina offers. I was looking forward to visit Moxies for lunch today as I haven't been here in years. We ordered Mango Chipotle Chicken, Tuna Poke Bowl and Tropical Thunder drink.
As we started eating, Eve came back to ask if everything is ok and how the food is. We said that the food is great but we had expected Tuna Poke Bowl to be hot just like the other bowl. At this, Eve got really defensive and said thats how the bowl comes as its written in the menu and also mentioned that the Tuna is raw inside. I was surprised because their menu didn't mention anything about raw Tuna, else we wouldn't have ordered.
Anyways, it's not about the food or payment as we were going to pay for whatever we ordered regardless we liked it or not. It's about Eve's behavior and her tone that made us feel disrespected. After talking to us like that, she walked away to another male server and started talking about us shaking her head while both looking at us. This made us to leave food at the table and we started making our way to the front desk to make a payment and leave.
Sam, their supervisor, met us and we shared about our experience. He apologized and offered to not collect payment, but we insisted to pay for one bowl that we liked eventhough we hardly ate anything.
While Sam went away to make a bill, Eve came back to talk about billing at the table. Again the way she talked to us was not appropriate. Atleast she should have apologized, but instead she talked down on us.
I am still not able to get over this whole experience as I feel bad because this happened when my husband was with me. I have been in this country for more than a decade and I never encountered such an experience. I am so much hurt because my husband just came to Canada and he had to go through this. No one would like to see their loved one going through this. My husband kept saying to Sam that this is the first time he experienced this out of many restaurants that he has been to in Regina.
I think Eve's behavior was outright racist and discriminatory. And this shouldn't be tolerated by any business in Canada. Sam said this has never happened before and it's the first time. Well, this could be true but shouldn't become an excuse for Eve's attitude and behavior.
I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone especially my...
Read moreAngela B., our server, was exceptional — attentive, gracious, and truly elevated the experience. The food was excellent, the atmosphere was great, and up until the end of the night, it felt like the kind of place I’d want to come back to.
Unfortunately, all of that was completely undermined by what followed.
After leaving, I realized I had forgotten my headphones. Since I was staying at the Sandman Hotel and had an early flight the next morning, I returned promptly to retrieve them. That’s when I encountered Edmond, one of the assistant managers.
Instead of showing any urgency or care, Edmond flatly told me the headphones had been locked away and couldn’t be retrieved — that no one had a key and it wouldn’t be possible until sometime the next day, long after I was gone. I asked if there were any other options, and was met with an evasive, patronizing tone. It was clear he didn’t want to help — and he certainly wasn’t trying to. Only after I firmly insisted that he call the general manager did he finally, and very reluctantly, agree.
Then, suddenly — after about 15 minutes — the headphones “magically” appeared. No key was mentioned. Instead, I was told the safe hadn’t been locked after all, and that the issue was just a battery that needed replacing. This explanation only confirmed what I had suspected from the beginning: they simply didn’t want to open it, and Edmond had chosen to obstruct instead of assist.
This wasn’t a misunderstanding. It was a choice. And it left me standing there, tired, anxious, and completely devalued as a guest — not because I forgot something, but because a manager couldn’t be bothered to do his job.
Angela deserves recognition. Edmond, frankly, should not be in a leadership position. His behavior was unprofessional, unkind, and entirely at odds with the kind of service this industry is supposed to represent. I hope management takes this seriously — because I wouldn’t return to this location unless real...
Read moreWe had a great time at Moxies tonight celebrating a friend’s birthday. Our reservation was for 7:15 PM, and even though we arrived a few minutes late, the hostess was very nice and got us seated right away.
Our server, Amy, was amazing from start to finish. She was friendly, patient, and took the time to explain the menu to us. She also gave helpful recommendations based on what we liked, which made ordering so much easier—and everything she suggested turned out to be delicious! She also went out of her way to take pictures for us. It was such a kind gesture, and she made sure we got the perfect shot to capture our celebration, making our experience more memorable.
We were given water as soon as we sat down, along with a carafe for easy refills, which was a thoughtful touch.
For appetizers, we had the Tiny Tuna Tacos and Cashew Chili Chicken—both were fresh, flavorful, and a great way to start the meal. I also had a mocktail that was really tasty, even though I can’t remember the name!
For mains, we had the Chipotle Mango Chicken, Grilled Chicken Zen Bowl, and Chicken Madeira Rigatoni. The Chipotle Mango Chicken was a standout with just the right mix of sweet and spicy. The rigatoni was creamy and rich, and the zen bowl was light, healthy, and full of flavor. Since we were celebrating a birthday, the celebrant was given a complimentary dessert and a birthday card. It was such a kind and thoughtful gesture that made the night feel extra special.
We finished off with dessert—Bite of Brownie and the Dark Chocolate Flourless Cake—both were rich, chocolatey, and the perfect way to end the meal. 🤗
Huge thanks to the chefs, hostess, Amy and every staff who signed on the card for such a lovely evening. Great food and amazing service. We will...
