We went to walk box on the east side. There was one employee that was cooking and one employee in the back on their phone. While we were waiting for our food, several other customers and several other delivery companies such as DoorDash. Skip the dishes. Uber eats all showed up at the same time. The one employee quickly got overwhelmed and constantly asked the other employee who we believed was management to help out. This person absolutely refused to help the one employee who was becoming overwhelmed and ended up yelling at them for not being able to do their job quickly enough. We finally were able to receive our food that took over 32 minutes. But we were not upset at the employee who was cooking. We could see that he was struggling. What we could not believe is the tenacity of the management who couldn't bother to lift a finger to help the employee? But took great pleasure in reprimanding them when they got overwhelmed. When we were done eating and we're on our way out management asked us how everything was we said the food was great and I personally thanked the employee who cooked it, but I told management that they did not deserve their job. It's unfortunate that this place is understaffed with poor management. I would not recommend this for anyone. If you're in a hurry, if you want to go somewhere and wait an hour to eat. This is the...
Read moreWent in today (Sunday) around 4pm to get some food, and I witnessed the employee knuckle deep in his nose, picking away. He didn’t notice me come in, so I just said “hey!” To get his attention. He came over and took my order, I withheld my payment to see what he would do, because I was waiting for him to wash his hands. He immediately went and started touching everything without gloves or anything and so I got his attention and told him “hey, when I came in, I saw you picking your nose, can you please go wash your hands” and he looked at me like I was the bad guy for asking that and went to the back to presumably wash his hands. At that point, I couldn’t trust that he actually would and I left without paying. If I see this employee in the store again, I will be leaving. Usually when I’m there, it’s an older gentleman and the food and service is always great when he’s working, he always has gloves and a hair net and it’s a great experience, but this employee today just turned me off from wok box so hard that I had to leave a review. Left...
Read moreWent for a lunch at this branch of Wok Box today (May 7th, 2023) after very long time.
They have added few items and have removed some from previous menu, which is a good thing I believe restaurants must try different items to serve different types of customers.
Place looked the same what I remembered from the last time. Big enough hall with open kitchen where everything is prepared in front of you.
Young men who took our order ( sorry didn’t get his name) and another one who was cooking were were friendly and professional.
We ordered one noodle and it one rice dish with poutines. Order was served quickly and portions were good too. We opted for one extra spicy and one mild spicy dish and both dishes tasted good.
Cook even came to the table asking about quality of food. Which was nice gesture.
There were only few others tables other then us but restaurant look busy due to take out /delivery.
Place looked clean and well...
