Please do not reply to my review. Reading your aggressive and hostile style of responses to other constructive feedback shows that you are not willing to consider what you can improve and how a client experiences your offering. I am writing about our experience so that other customers can make an informed decision.
First time trying this restaurant and I heard such reviews and recommendations that I was very much looking forward to go.
Restaurant has nice decorations and is clean.
Restaurant was empty and we were the only guests. Thinking it is the middle of the week, we thought to give it a try. Looking at the menu with handful of highly over priced items, I suggested that we leave. But unfortunately we decided to give it a try.
Staff and who appeared to be the owner were polite. The owner is a very convincing marketing and sales person talking about the offering as though you will have a feast! We were offered options that were not listed on the menu and no price was offered.
We decided to get rice and meat and a roast beef sandwich with a Zeitoon parvarde as our appetizer. We also ordered a margarita.
They kindly offered a small bowl of garlic yogurt and bread ( complementary) and when we were done, they asked if we wanted some more, and then they charged us for it! Which was a bit of surprise.
Owner told us that bar tender is not working that day (so why cocktails are offered during weekdays if you cannot serve them?) so he offered to mix a drink. When we asked what is it going to be and what will be used. He said it will be good and no other information. We got a blue and red drink which tasted like it has 0% alcohol and just consisted of color and juice and were charged for a margarita!
Zeitoon parvade was nice and delicious and bread was crunchy and nice!
Owner spoke highly of Roast beef sandwich so we got one and it was a cold simple roast sandwich and 5$ more expensive than other comparable sandwiches from other Iranian restaurants.
The other option the owner suggested was chelo goosht, which is rice and shoulder meat. We got our food and first thing I noticed was that the big chunk of tahdig that was showcased in the picture in the menu is missing so I asked about it and they said oh we don’t actually serve it ( giving me the impression that rice was old and just warmed up hence no crispy tahdig to serve) starting our meal that’s costs 45$ it was just some plain rice and meat. What I cook at home when I’m sick with not much taste. Meat portion was ok but it probably should have been priced at $20$.
You can get a herb rice with two lamb shanks ( baghali polo ba mahicheh) in other Iranian restaurants for 28$! Not sure what justifies this high price?!
Overall, we were very disappointed, food is highly overpriced for the mediocre offering.
I hope that the owners take feedback in a constructive way and not personal or defensive! And try to improve the experience for customers a bit. Reading their reactions and responses to other criticisms, I wish I read those before deciding to go there as...
Read moreJust finished eating at this gem, and it was an unexpectedly AMAZING experience. My partner and I were greeted by a very sweet waitress (I forgot to ask her name, she had blonde hair). She was extremely polite, kind, and attentive. She was unfortunately the sole waitress that day, as her colleague was ill, so she had all of the duties thrown upon her. Despite this, she was extremely professional, with a bright and cheery smile on her face. Really made the experience awesome.
My husband and I ordered the Akbar Joojeh and Koobideh Kabob (which is not advertised on their menu). Our meal came with a complimentary, freshly-baked saffron bread and mast-o-moosir (yoghurt and shallot/garlic dip). It was super delicious!
Our lovely waitress came to our table with a bowl of Kashk-o-Bademnjan and a beautiful garden salad, which she explained was free for us, as the restaurant was busy and our meals may be arriving to our table a little later than anticipated, due to being understaffed that day. It was such a kind, considerate, and sweet gesture! Let me tell you though, that kashk-o-bademnjan dish was such a star. It was filled with onions, and the flavour was excellent. Dare I say, the best one I've had in my life!
Our meals actually arrived quicker than we thought, and they were fabulous! The Akbar Joojeh was superb. It was crispy, perfectly-cooked, and glazed with a delicious pomegranite sauce. It was a 10/10! The koobideh was also extremely tender, great quality meat, and it seemed to be a mixture of lamb and beef. Not lamb-y whatsoever though, and very delicious!
My husband and I forced ourselves to finish the hot foods, and took our free salad to go with full bellies and big smiles on our faces. The price was very fair, the food was excellent, and the service was top-notch. What an excellent experience!
Also to mention, I believe the owner of the restaurant (a sweet brunette lady) came to our table asking us how our meal was. What professional, caring, and kind ladies :).
