Chef James Foods — Restaurant in Richmond

Chef James is honestly THE OG of the Vancouver food scene. The man’s food is SO YUMMY. Every time I visit the night market, Chef James is my first and last stall to visit (yes I often eat there and pack some to go for family and friends). He makes his food from the heart and with great dedication (when every other vendor assembles pre-made food, Chef James stands in hot greasy fumes for hours and cooks each batch of juicy lamb to perfection… mmmm so flavorful). Every other item I tried is absolutely delish too (duck bun, eggplant bun, lamb noodles).. gosh my mouth is watering just thinking about this man’s food.

Great family story too, would love to see them open up an actual restaurant so I can eat hot yummy buns in the winter time :(

The lamb bun from Chef James is absolutely amazing, among so many of their very delicious menu items. The best part of the service we received was the obvious family support and camaraderie. It felt like you visited your friends parents who were so excited to feed you, for a fee of course. :)

While they were at the Richmond Night Market (RNM), I thoroughly enjoyed everything and anything I ordered. They took particular care to ensure the food was hot upon pickup and if it was not hot, they would insist on redoing it at no charge.

If you stop by the RNM, make it a priority to stop by the booth of Chef James...

Chef James and staff are super friendly and fun, and the food is delicious!! Favourite stall at the night market and definitely worth getting. I’ve been to chef james a few times and so far tried their noodles, duck, chicken and lamb buns and they are ALL so good 😋🤤🤤 Will be going...
