Ordered take out from Fantuan for Xmas dinner. I ordered at 4pm and estimated pick up time was 4:15 and soon changed to 4:29. I arrived that at 4:20 the only staff there told me they haven’t started preparing at all. At 4:35 I asked again the lady told me I should wait since the dine in customers have priority. I then asked why the pickup time on my app is 4:29 the staff told me that’s non of her business then she said “YOU SHOULD BE APPRECIATED, I COULD MARK YOUR ORDER AS COMPLETED AND YOU WILL NEVER GET YOUR FOOD!” I was shocked by what she said and try to contact Fantuan for a refund. Unfortunately no one answered me. I finally got my food at around 4:50, which is a 20mins late. I felt like I was begging for food from that lady. The server we had was very knowledgeable and helpful. She was one of the highlights of our experience there. There were great choices even for the people who don't eat meat. We ordered 3 dishes. They all had that red chili oil color, but tasted so different from one another. One of the dishes that we ordered was an unpopular dish that had distinct flavors. When ordering it, the server girl let us know that many people usually would go for something else because of the dark vinegar flavor in the dish that some people would not find appetizing. Me and my husband’s all time favorite restaurant in Vancouver. My hubby from Chengdu and he approved the dishes are very authentic. Nowadays food court is quite expensive and dining here becomes much better choice. The servants are nice aunties not super great western style services but definitely warm and kind enough. It’s like our grannies home (small, clean, cozy and tidy) we visit there every week. Fresh meats and vegetables and large portion. Usually we go there order two dishes and two rice.
