My friend and I came here to give the food a try because of the recommendation of an Instagram food blogger and the good reputation on Google Review. We ordered 2 bowls of noodles, and they tasted okay with reasonable price at total of $27.50 before tax . As this place is cash only and considering the little service we received, we just give the lady $30, which is only 25cents less than a 10% tip of the value of what we ordered ($27.5 x 1.1 = $30.25). The lady then stopped us and said that $30 was not even 10%. We then gave her an additional $1 just because we tried to avoid conflicts. However, the lady was not satisfied, she told us that $31 was still not enough for a 10% tip and asked if we don't know how to do math when we were confused. Anyways, according to her, we "have to" give her a 10% tip on the "total with tax included", which is $28.88x1.1=$31.77. The lady let us go after we paid a total of $31.6x by giving all the changes my friend had in his wallet. Being forced to give a certain amount of tips was a very AWFUL experience especially when I believed that THEY DO NOT DESERVE THE AMOUNT OF TIPS. The lady did minimum things of her job duties (giving menus, taking orders, serving foods, taking away the empty bowls). No greetings and smiles at all. She said less than 5 sentences (What do we want to order; They don't have the tomato soup, you're welcome, and if she can take away the empty bowls) to us. I think the tip we originally had was already generous. Most importantly, I honestly NOT SURE WHY WE HAVE TO TIP ON THE TAXES AS WELL. If you are an employee and don't get paid enough, ask your employer to pay you more. If you are an employer and believe that customer didn't give your employees enough tips, raise your price ad improve your service. Tips are not mandatory with your poor...
Read moreContrary to all the comments about the server being rude, my server came and closed the curtains for me when it was very sunny outside and I was sweating a lot from eating the noodles. We had to cancel an order from the kitchen and they were very nice about it too. So I gladly left 20% tip.
The food here is so good, the soup is so rich and it resembles japanese ramen soup base with very silky, slurrable rice noodles. Its less fatty because its made with fish bones as well, and it taste a lot homey and definitely very comforting to the soul. If you dont like fish tho, there isn’t much on the menu for you to order besides their rice bowls. All their noodle soups have fish in it.
Although the presentation is not the best, the flavor profile definitely kills it. Ordered the tofu and egg as well. Very well marinated inside and out (ate too fast didn’t take pic). I came here because my parents got take out here last night and I had some of their leftovers. It was so good I had to come the next day.
Its better than tam jai if you know which hk chain store Im talking about. Glad to finally find a place to get my rice noodles cravings fixed. Will come here everyday if I dont get...
Read moreI can't express enough how good this place is!!! So good that I completely forgot to take photo of the food because it was eaten too quickly. Fyi it is cash only so make sure you have some beforehand! I got my husband the house special and for myself the spicy pork intestine, to my husband's dismay (he is not a fan of pork intestine one bit). This place is so good that I ended up having to switch the dish around because my husband wanted the rest of the spicy intestine, this is the first time ever seeing him wanting pork intestine in any way! The house special is also super tasty, it has a creamy rich umami flavour with delicious pieces of fish. However if you're a fan of intestine, then I would for sure recommend that one! I don't live close by but I have forever marked this place as a favourite for the next time I am there, thank you for such a wonderful...
