I recently had the pleasure of visiting Daango Cakes, a new cake shop in Richmond, and I must say, my experience was nothing short of fantastic. As a regular contributor to Google reviews, it's disheartening to see the influx of fake negative reviews targeting this establishment. I'd like to take this opportunity to share my genuine thoughts and empathize with the incredible team at Daango Cakes.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm by the friendly staff. Their dedication to providing exceptional customer service was evident in every interaction. Not only were they knowledgeable about their delectable offerings, but they also took the time to ensure I found the perfect treat for my occasion.
The quality of the cakes at Daango Cakes is truly outstanding. Each slice I tried was a heavenly delight, showcasing the artistry and expertise that goes into their creations. It's evident that the team takes immense pride in their work, as the cakes are not only visually stunning but also melt-in-your-mouth delicious.
What sets Daango Cakes apart from other establishments is their remarkable staff culture and work ethic. They tirelessly strive to exceed expectations, day in and day out. The dedication they put into their craft does not go unnoticed or unappreciated. It's clear that they genuinely love what they do, and it reflects in the quality of their products.
I have no doubt that Daango Cakes will continue to flourish and expand in the near future. Their creativity and commitment to excellence will undoubtedly lead to new menu items and, perhaps, even additional locations. The scale and excitement surrounding this establishment are well-deserved, as they consistently deliver exceptional experiences to their customers.
In conclusion, I highly recommend Daango Cakes to anyone in search of delectable cakes and an outstanding customer experience. Don't let the fake reviews deter you from experiencing their culinary delights. Give them a visit, support their incredible team, and indulge in the flavors that will leave you craving more. Congratulations to Daango Cakes on their...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVisited during the weekend, and understandably a long wait as it's a new shop, but the staffs are super unorganized and frazzled. Would be helpful to have staff facilitate the lines instead of letting people cut in. Also would be nice if there's a tv or something to display your cakes while waiting in line to decide what people would want than having to spend 5 minutes finally being able to view your products and trying to decide wasting everyone's time. The staff also doesn't explain well on the limit on your orders and cannot communicate well in both Chinese nor English. I was baffled when the staff told me I have 5 cakes, and I was inquiring to what that means? I asked her if there's a limit, and she kept saying you already have 3 Q cakes, and I commented that if she want me to take off two then? But she just stared at me and I was in total confusion and said that will be all then? I only later found out at the paying counter from another staff that the there are limits to Q cakes per person, so I am not sure why the first girl did not just say that or the shop have no sign that explain the simple rules. I also had to make another trip to the store as they forget to pack 2 of the cakes; have I mentioned disorganized?
Now onto the taste. The short answer is that it's not worth waiting in line. Better to go during weekdays when it's empty. The Q cakes are great for photos but lack depth or flavor. Even the normal cakes taste bland. The 3:15 hk mill tea cake taste nothing like milk tea. I also bought their 24d durian ice cream and it's tasteless; strong durian smell but no sweetness to enhance thr durian flavor. It literally taste like nothing, and I would have to be bouje now and use this expensive ice cream in a durian milkshake so I don't waste it and throw it in the garbage. I had my friend that does not like sweets try it and told me its flavorless too. So avoid if you have a real sweet tooth.
No regrets trying it, just...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreDaan Go was a huge disappointment. It is very obvious once you try the cakes that they prioritized looks over flavor and quality. I ordered 3 cakes, the Tira meow su, lucky duck and raman bowl and all of them were a let down.
They all lacked any sort of flavor and texture. All the cakes were very just mushy and bland. The raman bowl was supposed to have chocolate mousse with caramelized pear and coffee jelly, the chocolate mousse was a dense, gelatinous texture with no chocolate flavor. And overall the flavors for this cake did not go well together.
The Tira meow su had no flavor as well, other than the tiny one layer of cake soaked in coffee. Other than that, the Tira meow su had a huge mascarpone layer that again was a dense, gelatinous texture with no real flavor. The proportion of mascarpone to cake was very off and the mascarpone cream was dense and gelatinous when it should be light, creamy and airy.
The lucky duck cake was very underwhelming and just tasted of lemon, the other components were not adding anything to the overall cake.
Another huge shock was that the cakes are frozen. I bought my cake right when they opened and the cakes and cookies were all frozen! Cake shops and bakeries should have fresh product to serve guests and cakes should not be frozen. I have never been served a frozen cake at a bakery before. This indicates that the freshness and quality of Daan Go cakes are lacking. If I ate the cake right there at the shop, I wouldn't have been able to since it was frozen and wet with condensation from defrosting.
I would say, save your time and money and go somewhere else! Vancouver lower mainland area has so many amazing cake shops and bakeries that are far more innovative than Daan Go when it comes to flavor, quality and...
