I went to Nick’s Diner & Pizza last night - we took our in-laws there for dinner who were in town visiting. I can’t say I have ever had such bad service from a restaurant before in my life. While the food was alright - the burgers were absolutely over cooked to the point they were like biting into jerky, one of the meals with burger was a child meal and my daughter had a very hard time even biting through the mini slider. The server who was absolutely horrible at her job (so much so she should be fired or at least completely retrained and on probation) she brought out coors light beer and not coors, she brought out all the meals except for 1 which came 12 minutes after the rest of our meals which is absolutely outrageous in food service. We were never asked if we needed refills on any drinks or how our meals were. No apology for the one meal coming so much later than the others. She came to our table about 5 minutes after she finally brought out the final meal with the bill and asking us if we wanted take out containers… the audacity. I replied that we weren’t done eating - we all put off eating to wait for the other meal to finally come out - to which I should add it only came out after I was like “ayyyy - is his meal going to come out anytime soon or what?” - when it did come out the plate was so hot and the cheese was melted but set so you could clearly tell it just sat under the heat lamp for a good chunk of time. We were the only people in the diner expect for the area with gaming machines. We will not be back to Nick’a Diner & Pizza as the poor quality of service is just next level. There were two servers working and from where I stand as I have served before back as a university student- other servers should be helping out when things like that happen - they shouldn’t just look at food sitting there, leave it and count tips. This comes across as a very poor “corporate culture” even for a small diner. If anyone asks me, I will not have anything good to say...
Read moreFormerly known as Nick and Leslie's, Nick's Diner & Pizza is a fresh look at the restaurant business in Rocky. Running with a spruced up diner atmosphere and an exuberant energetic line of waitresses, the restaurant makes for an inviting place to eat, regarding most of their meal times, and offerings. However, with the accompaniment of a new opening and a brand new staff line, there's much to improve on in the forthcoming months.
First and foremost, appetizer portions are less than minimal in comparison to other diners. Where most customers would be satisfied ordering an appetizer as a full meal for one, the plates here don't quite make the cut as a sufficient meal. From there, one of the more pricey meals on the menu, being the Chicken Dinner, was just scary. With an overly floured and bland breading, the star protein of the dish was poorly executed, and did not reflect what the restaurant perceived to be one of its better meals.
However, with all that being said, the fries as a side were some of the best I've ever had, and the main course portions were reasonable, aligning well with most of Rocky's standards. Although the chefs and staff do need a fair bit of experience here, that will come with time as they work out the kinks.
Over all, it was an enjoyable night, and I look forward to witnessing this establishment grow and progress...
Read moreI don’t know if this place use to be good or something, but I’ve been there twice and I’ve been super disappointed each time.
Their French toast looked like sad shoe soles, and were tasteless. I also tried their L.B.L.T. The sandwich didn’t come with any sauce, and their cheese was a slice of Craft Single from Walmart. Pretty sad to come home and have to add sauce and replace the cheese for over $17.
My girlfriend tried the Mac and cheese burger, the pasta looked like old leftovers and it came with 0 cheese. Basically just old pasta inside a burger. Not at all mac and cheese.
Our total was over $56 dollars for two dishes, sad food with mid range restaurant prices. I hope they improve because there’s ...
