Brennevins was always one of our favourite stops while in Gimli, although our last couple visits haven’t been as enjoyable. The latest visit had us wondering if it was under new management or ownership. We came on a slower Wednesday evening and picked a table at the window. We were greeted promptly and ordered drinks. While deciding on our food we noticed the lighting was quite bright and harsh. Not something we remembered. It was so bright that it was attracting an enormous amount of fruit flies. When Drinks arrived the lemon garnishes were soggy and one even had a dead fly on it. My partner had to cover her wine glass with a napkin to keep the flies from diving in! As we decided on dinner some staff, who were sitting at a table next to us, decided it was time to set up the buffet for the next night so they proceeded to obnoxiously drag chairs and tables all around us. After 5 mins of feeling in the way our appetites were waining so we decided to just share a calamari and a small buffalo chicken pizza. Well, the calamari wasn’t good. It was very greasy, over fried and the tzatziki was flavourless. The pizza however was quite tasty and they did a good job omitting the red onions(allergy). Thank goodness something hadn’t changed. We did not stay for dessert or our traditional Brenevin shot and left wondering if we...
Read moreDon't bother. This place has really gone downhill, we waited over 2 hours for our food to be delivered, they said it would take 1 hour.
We tried calling for that hour but always a busy signal, so I drive to the restaurant and they tell me they leave the phone off the hook. How about phone your customers back saying its going to be late, not make them wait an extra hour and no way to contact, I would have came an hour sooner and picked it up myself. Very unprofessional...
One girl was rude and cranky at me, and didn't know anything about my order at first, like this is how you run a restaurant? No one knows anything? Great.
Food was good but save yourself the headaches and hassle and order food from a different place, its just not worth it.
Never ordering...
Read moreMy hubby and I were treated to our delicious meal by my fantastic mother-in-law. We chose Brennivins because it had vegan options for my husband, there are not many vegan options in Gimli. It was very good! I had the greek pizza and my mil had the individual bbq chicken pizza and my hubby got an appy plate and just switched out one of the items to accommodate himself. Everything was very tasty. We ordered their house chips called a viking boat I believe and those were devine! It was busy inside but still a good atmosphere. The only downside was a loud group who came in near the end of our meal as they were very loud and it's a small fining space but that's neither here nor there. Would definitely recommend if you're out and...
