Flatland Coffee Roasters — Restaurant in Rural Municipality of Gimli

I really enjoy Flatland Coffee. Their decor is simple yet modern in a way that won't ever be considered dated, tacky, or overly trendy. The coffee, I prefer the Americano is quite good. The price is higher than the average cup at the gas station or big chain coffee shop yet the quality and relaxed atmosphere make this a better alternative to a Tim Hortons or gas station cup of coffee. I'm thankful that the over the top religious decoration of the bathroom that did not fit the restaurant or the Christian only themed literature have been replaced with a more neutral decor and selection of reading material. Rating a business at five stars is not a role I take lightly, nor do often, but I believe this business is deserving as it is the best coffee shop in Gimli and the Interlake area! The owner knows customers by name and the staff are ready to serve with a friendly smile! The coffee is excellent and also happens to be roasted locally, made up of high quality coffee beans that the owner has obviously taken the time to research and hand select. When it’s not busy, you’ll be impressed with the staff who will take the time to keep the shop and restroom facilities very clean: a service that is often overlooked in many coffee shops and restaurants today. An absolutely exceptional café, from bean to service.

Over three days visiting Gimli I went three times - each time the staff was different and wonderful, but the true measure is the cup of coffee.

Both hot and iced, decaf, latte, drip and americano were outstanding. The grind and extraction are dialled in, the end result being one of the most consistent and great coffees I’ve had anywhere, let alone in a small town.

The beans that I picked up also meet the same standard. They are roasted to near perfection and make a terrific cup at home.
