Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life and I’ve gone foreign wide across Canada and I have been to quite a few robins donuts. I understand the place was closing at 4 PM but the attitude of that worker there. Oh my gosh unbelievable he told people they would have to leave and take their food with them. He said it very rudely and they never have anything in stock at this location. I mean the shelves are empty for donut selections it is empty. Robin’s donuts is very nostalgic to me, but it is gone downhill. Of course there is a lot of competition and that competition unfortunately is going above and beyond what robs donuts could even come up to at this point. Just a sidenote, they used to have peach juice in the fountains like the fountain drink of peach juice and they used to have the sprinkled donuts as in the sprinkle robin eggs, the Robin eggs and those were the best but now oh my gosh, I will never enter that facility ever again. The Gimli one needs to be shut down so horrible so awful. They clearly do not care about their patrons or the service that they provide, and it...
Read moreI have gotten coffee twice from here, twice for hot chocolate and it tastes like brown water. On those trips, I got donuts, robins eggs, apple turnovers, and a carrot muffin. The muffin was harder on outside, but soft on inside, robins eggs were so harder than they should have been, and the donuts are a toss-up, the jammers had about a teaspoon of jam, the Bavarian was good, apple fritters were good. I've had a breakfast sandwich from here when it wasn't too busy, but it took 15 minutes. Maybe, they should make a better system, besides toasting, heating meat in microwave, and not offering ketchup. Service is usually pretty good, just need to taste their own products to see, if it can be improved. Edit, as of July 2025, I came back service, time it took to make my items, and quality of the food has increased, so I raised the stars. I had an apple fritter, it was moist, and had the good glaze, I ordered a bacon, and egg on Texas toast, and mango smoothie. I received it in less than 4-5 minutes. Great...
Read moreI was very surprised to see a Robin's Donuts open in Gimli. I was actually happy for them as I felt that the Robin's Donuts chain did not have much time left after losing the majority of their stores over the past twenty years as places like Tim Hortons and Starbucks only got stronger in the Winnipeg market. The location is fantastic with a well lit corner spot in the Lakeview hotel and offering traditional coffee shop items at low prices with fairly good hours (for Gimli). However, that's basically all the good things I can say about this Robin's. The food including donuts as pasteries look good yet are fairly bland. The sandwiches are really nothing special, the coffee is not great, and the atmosphere manages to be brand new and well kept yet outdated at the same time. Robin's did not make enough of an effort to be competitive in Winnipeg and Tim Hortons all but obliterated them. Now with a Tim Hortons in Gimli I can't imagine that this already second rate coffee shop can...
