I’ve been wanting to leave this review for a very long time and suggest you read and I hope management reads this as well, including the other general managers that help keep this store running. I’m not a whiny customer, I’ve worked fast food many times and I’ve worked in a McDonald’s for 4 years.
First off, the staff here are some of the best people I’ve met. Most of them are great workers and individuals. I’ve taken note on managers I’ve interacted with as a customer that have been nothing but amazing!: Jayson, Kurt, Ivy, Jasper, and Leon. The issue I have that is also personal to me is the upper management.
The way the crew is treated here is beyond me from what I’ve heard and seen while in the restaurant. The way the staff is treated and spoken to isn’t okay, there is little to no respect from the boss to the managers and crew. The opportunities given to some are biased and based on favouritism from the boss. Gross. Mainly from inappropriate comments that belittle the crew and the work done, the work environment is not encouraging and does not create good initiative.
The work performance done that is encouraged by the boss is false. They rush and demean customers when they order in drive thru because it hurts the stores statistics. It doesn’t matter who you are, apparently it’s an inconvenience for them to use the drive thru (with big orders and even small ones). Because of the stress put onto the staff to be seen as over achieving, they rush drive through orders and often make mistakes. Because the cars are being timed and rushed out, the store appears to do much better than they actually are. Ridiculous. If they had an organized management of time, good direction, and discipline, the would not have to fake their store’s achievements.
This doesn’t take away from the good moments of this place, I don’t come here often at all anymore but I do think it’s fair to put this out there to acknowledge the unfair treatment of staff and of customers. I do NOT agree at all that the customer is always right, however, I do believe in treating others with respect and kindness especially when working a customer service job. I do believe both Conrad (especially) and Jeff do need to work on this..big yikes.
Breakfast slaps though, so good. Hashbrowns are best when they’re cooked a little longer for that...
Read moreWhy the one star??? Because I was ignored big time. I hope it was not the age, or the cane or both.
Staff have spotted me walking in, on my way to washroom. The most impressive accessable washroom I have ever seen. I do give McDonald's the credit for that.
As I left the washroom and headed toward the cash, someone was finishing serving am older couple. He hurried to the back as I parked myself under the order sign.
I learned on my cane and waited. Same person as he ran to talk to others he noticed me there I am sure. He disappeared back I think to serve drive through.
I waited enough, and I can see at least 2 staff who were busy prepping food notice me. They looked concerned but did not do much.
Still waiting, and hurting too... But I tried not to show the invisible pain publicly. A person coming back from break, noticed me and still on break, she headed to the back..
Still waiting, I hoped she alerted somebody about me....no one showed up...
That is when I asked myself, am I purposely ignored because I am ordering on sick legs and those relaxing in their car seats deserve the extra care???
I peeked, and no one was noticing me, and those who initially noticed me pretended not to notice me.... It was time to walk away... Something I hadn't done for ages ... Too bad I left without expressing how impressed I was with the best accessable bathroom....
That is when I realized, the most accessible bathroom does not make a difference. Respecting those with disability DOES .
A quick word, will be right with you, could have made me wait longer...
Read moreIf possible to give no stars.. I would. This sorry excuse for a restaurant that facades as McDonald's should be CLOSED.. and it only opened a short time ago. I am sitting here eating my A&W breakfast as my experience here led me to request a full refund for my order. Waited 20 mins in drive-thru.. fine, I can understand being busy... when I received my order.. NOT ONE THING WAS CORRECT! It was a single breakfast order.. consisting of 3 items.. and they still couldn't get it right... went into the storefront to get a refund.. continued to wait for an employee to acknowledge that multiple customers are waiting to be served... NOPE, manager refused to even glance at us... so I spoke up and suggested they send someone to look after us.. I was met by the glare and annoyance of the Manager (if you can truly call her that) this woman tried to essentially "Shush" me like a child.. when I confronted her about the lack of accuracy every time I go there... her response was to say "Ma'am I don't know if you noticed, but we're busy" WOW.. yes you condescending genius, I can tell that you're busy, I do have eyes... but please explain how being busy prevents you from confirming order accuracy??... anyways.. I will never ever attend this or any other mcdonalds location again.. A&W offered to create the same meal for me even though the don't offer it on the menu. NOW THAT IS...
