Dunn's Famous St-Eustache — Restaurant in Saint-Eustache

Location: On the north shore. Parking available though on the small side and often busy.

The place: It's not an overly large space but you're not stuck to your neighbours. Decor is simple, the place is clean.

The goods: Obviously, you come here for the smoked meat, though they have other options on their menu. I ordered their small combo which is a pretty decent-sized portion of fries, one sandwich and I think coleslaw. The smoked meat was great but had some fat on it so if you don't like any fat, order lean (I ordered medium but it's what I normally order at other places but there' not usually any fat) - the fries were crispy and not greasy at all.

Service: Good

I haven’t eaten at dunns in 15 years so I wanted to try it again. Food was alright but the service was not acceptable for a restaurant that did not have a lot of patrons. A meal that should have taken max 30 min ended up taking closer to an hour. There was a solid 10 minutes between when we put the menu down and when the waitress came to take our order. The bottomless drinks mean nothing if the waitress never comes to check on you. At one point she came asked if we wanted a refill and then disappeared until it was time for the bill without ever bringing the drink.

My partner and I came here to eat over the weekend to celebrate a promotion he had just received at work. The food and atmosphere were great, however our server Laurie WAS NOT. She looked and acted miserable every time she spoke to us. I don’t think she smiled once, and on top of her poor attitude, we could overhear her speaking poorly of other employees quite loudly on the floor. Overall just unprofessional.
