Ace Burger — Restaurant in Saskatoon

It'd be no surprise that this place serves some seriously tasty food if you'd know about their inception. The Congress is a bar downtown whose burgers became the stuff of local legend. Seeking to expand to a broader audience, they opened up the Ace Burger food truck, whose limited menu did not stop lunch rush lineups (even in the rain). Eventually, they decided to open up a fuy fledged burger joint.

Holy hell was that a good idea.

The menu is not very large here - but that's because every item is carefully curated so there is no wasted space. You literally can't choose a bad meal. From delicious classics like the Mac Daddy (use your imagination) to the fancier Truffle Mushroom burger to the patty melt, with the best texas toast money can buy. If your not into beef, they also serve chicken fingers, delicious fried chicken and fish sandwiches, and make kickasa hot dogs (although you maximalists out there may want to add chili and cheese).

Inviting and open, the atmosphere is modern casual - but there is an unescapable feeling like you are still eating at the food truck. The best part is the food is only a couple bucks more expensive than you'd be paying at a McDonalds (and also lightyears ahead of the golden arches in terms of quality and style).

I cannot recommend this place enough if you are looking for a budget friendly place to treat your family or friends. Every penny...

I have been to this location a couple of times and have also tried calling in numerous times to place a pickup order.

Every single time I have called in, nobody seems to answer the phone. We host bi-weekly meetings at our non for profit organization, and have tried to order from Ace Burger without any luck. I am all for supporting local and always want to share business with these local restaurants etc.

The two times I have come to this place, I have had a so-so experience. The people taking the orders and letting us know our food was ready, just didn't seem enthusiastic at all. We just felt like we were more of a nuisance than anything else. The food was good but I just didn't feel welcome.

I have tried emailing and have had no luck. I thought maybe it was just me (or it landed in their junk folder) and I had a colleague email multiple times to get an answer back but have had no luck. I checked out their Instagram account and due to their settings, their account can only receive messages from other specific accounts. It's a shame.

If I could recommend anything, please answer your phones/emails and change your social media settings so clients/customers can get in touch with you.

My husband and I are both vegetarians so many burger restaurants are not appropriate for us. We were in the neighbourhood and decided to try Ace Burger. We were not disappointed! We ordered the veggie burger, which was their own restaurant made patty with lots of flavour: crispy and juicy at the same time. The bun was soft and the toppings were freshly cut and ample. It was an amazingly good burger! We also ordered fries and onion rings. The fries came in a large bag — twice the amount you would get at a drive thru fast food place — but they were also perfectly deep fried crispy and dreamy. Onion rings are really hard to get right, but these were really good! Crispy on the outside and soft and sweet on the inside. My husband also ordered a vanilla milkshake. I would have to say that this was the only drawback to the meal. It was thick, but didn’t have much flavour; alright without being special. It was also a very small portion. All in all, I recommend Ace Burger...
