It’s actually gotten a bit comical with how every time we visit this location there is a bump.
It was something we started to notice when in the summer it took us waiting almost 2 hours for a table before we left and went to the 8th street location. It didn’t look busy on the day that we showed up for dinner and as a group of 5 adults and 3 kids understandable that we would have to wait a bit but 2 hours was extreme. We even asked to sit in the lounge but with the kids we were declined this request even though there were other young kids in there.
The next time we went it was another large family outing, 4 adults and 3 kids. We were seated quickly but then ended up waiting over and hour for our food and this time not a single one of us had the correct order. Wrong pizza for 2 orders, not breaded chicken on 2 of the meals, wrong drink, wrong size of pizza and the food was cold. Things got corrected and the location took of 2 meals and the wrong drink. They were also out of crayons which can make things a bit harder with 3 hungry kids. From this experience we now return the crayons after the meal to the front desk in hopes that there will be some later and I keep some in my purse.
The next time we went out it was 2 adults 3 kids and only my meal was incorrect. Seated quickly and food was prompt and warm so that was a bonus. Nothing was done about the incorrect meal except bringing me what I asked for originally which is fine. As I said warm food is a bonus. At the end of the meal I asked for a to go box for my creamy pasta and was given a cardboard box with a little paper liner that wasn’t big enough to cover the full inside and air holes. Something much more suited to chicken finger and fries. So I asked for one of the plastic containers. Was informed that they are moving away from those types of containers and you have to ask for them if you want them. So now when I visit this location I also need to bring my own take home containers as well as crayons it seems.
At this time my partner doesn’t want to frequent this location but a day out and errands we ended up back here for another meal and another dinner with bumps happen. Forgot a drink for one of the kids brought the wrong food to our table. It’s actually gotten a bit funny at this point.
Next time as we have the kids cards we are prepared for a few bumps but can manage. Seated fast order out appetizers and orders go in. So far looking good. I notice the Christmas deal so I go up and get 8 gift cards to get the $10 off a meal card. A bit of a wait at the front but that’s ok because our main meal isn’t at the table yet. A small bump where the machine said it took payment but I didn’t punch anything in and then later they came to our table because it didn’t get rung in. We laughed a bit about it and kept eating, server was friendly even though she was busy and dinner went well. Going to pay and we hand her a $25 VISA gift card as well as a BPs gift card and I told her the remainder of the balance will be paid off with our other card. She comes back and tells us that the VISA gift card was decline, oh well maybe we forgot that we used it. Get home check the balance nope full balance, server just didn’t put it as a $25 credit when ringing it in.
Was going to be a 2 star review when our first couple of visits didn’t go well but now giving 3 stars because it’s actually comical. Wonder what will happen next time!
TLDR: remember to bring your own crayons, to go containers and only one form of payment. You should also only come to this location when you are not hungry as your food will take a long time to get to you BUT it’s almost worth it for the comical nature of everything that...
Read moreI came in with my two friends for dinner, our server was Abigail P. We were sat at a circle table that was very open. We noticed it wasn’t so busy so we very politely asked to switch to a booth because we prefer to be more closed off, we apologized for the inconvenience as we work in the restaurant industry and understand it can be a bother. But after that our server was extremely closed off and standoffish. Barely talked to us the entire meal except for the necessity’s like asking what we wanted to order etc. The words she did say were of aggressive nature and very uninviting/uninterested. When our food got to the table one of the dishes, poutine was completely cold and cheese was basically frozen, and the other dish was serviced to us with no bacon when we ordered it with extra bacon. We asked for the poutine to be reheated and it came back cold again but drenched in gravy. When we were served our food again, it was slammed on the table and aggressively shoved our way. Then our bills were all mixed up and it was just a struggle to pay for our food. We noticed our server at other tables being way more friendly and enthusiastic towards them. So it was just frustrating getting that treatment. We’re all young and in college and we were super friendly, quiet and kind the whole time, the service was very frustrating. Unacceptable and...
Read moreEvery Boston Pizza we go to in Saskatoon my wife orders twist bread, we get around 8 or so breads. Today at this location we got 4 for $11 and the girl serving argued with us about it. A full order of 8 is $13.99. We asked for an order received a half and are being charged $2 less than a full.
Fn joke Part 2 The manager came to the table and when we pointed out the differences to the other locations, she told us that it's a different owner. She said that this owner decides their own prices and menu. That this location a full order is 4. While we were sitting at the table we called the location we were at on the Tuesday this week price checked and verified portions prior to the manager coming to the table. When we told her that we called the other location, she tried to school me on franchises. Clearly she is the one needing the schooling on that and about consistency of pricing and portions across across franchises. The owner owns the franchise not the business model. We go to BP because we like the food and go quite often to different locations across the province. As my wife is vegetarian her options are limited she often orders the same thing with twist breads. This is the first time we have received a half order in place of an order then told a half order is a full order. Then have to argue the point with the server and...
