Unfortunately, this was a really disappointing experience. I placed an order for my father to pick up for Father’s Day. Before ordering, I checked the restaurant’s menu listed on their Google Business profile. According to the prices shown there, the 8oz steak was $23, and the ribs with Caesar salad were $16.
The woman who took my order over the phone was very kind, but when I got my online banking notification, I noticed I had been charged $61.02 — which didn’t match the prices I had seen.
I called the restaurant immediately to ask why. A gentleman apologized and explained that the 8oz steak is now $35 and the ribs are now $15. He acknowledged that the menu listed on Google was outdated and said he would contact the owner to have it removed.
At that point, I asked if I could adjust the order to just two ribs and Caesar and be refunded the difference, as it had only been about 3 minutes since I called in. He kindly agreed and said the refund would be given in cash to my father at pickup.
I thought the issue was resolved — but when my parents arrived, the staff initially handed my mom only $10 and no receipt. She called me, confused, and I told her that didn’t add up. Eventually, they gave her a receipt and an extra $4, for a total of $14 back.
When they got home, she looked at the receipt and was even more confused. One order of ribs was listed at $15, the other at $19, and each Caesar salad had a separate charge — one for $4, and the other for $2. Nothing about the pricing seemed consistent or clear.
To top it off, the ribs were burnt — which just added insult to injury on a meal that was supposed to feel special.
My dad called to express our concerns, and they did apologize and offered him a free order of ribs next time. That gesture is appreciated — but he could not explain why one order of ribs were charged differently then the other, we were overcharged, misinformed by the posted menu, and ended up with food that wasn’t even prepared well.
This really shouldn’t happen, especially when ordering based on a restaurant’s own published menu. It left a bad taste — both literally and...
Read moreLuke warm coffee to start but recovered nicely with the food, then fresh coffee later. We had the cheesey dip, chicken fingers, and the tear jerker burger. Nicely presented meals. I was impressed with the burger because it was not greasy and everything was fresh with nice heat. The sweet potato fries and standard fries were crispy and tasty. Overall, I'm pleasantly surprised. Clean tables and friendly service.
09/01/24 Fries and cauliflower appetizers. Pleasant service and good food.
09/28/24 We had the Cuban sandwich and the Italian grilled cheese and pop. Sadly, this visit was a letdown. The pop was mostly surup with little carbonation. The Cuban sandwich roast beef tasted like old meat to us both that we did not finish it.The Italian grilled cheese was ok, but the filling was very much lacking. They were nice enough to remove the Cuban and pop from the bill, but still disappointed.
11/03/24 Ordered the chicken fingers meal, skirt burger with poutine, and bam bam shrimp. Sadly, the burger patty was extremely dry, and the gravy on the poutine and as a side with the chicken fingers was very horrible. So much so that less than half the burger and one bite of the poutine. The bam bam shrimp was good. Disappointed with the inconsistent meals. Every time the skirt burger is ordered, it tastes different. We can only assume there is different kitchen staff a lot of the time. Also, the level of table service is a hit and miss, too. When our food was taken away, we didn't even get asked if everything was ok. We will not...
Read moreOn February 13, 2022 at 1pm my family and I decided to eat at Manhattans. We've been here a couple years back.
Now usually I keep my indigenous experiences to myself, but I figured I may as well start talking about them.
Note: 4 other tables with occupants inside with 1 hostess, and 2 waitresses (possibly 3).
I sat at about 1:08pm. Sat and waited until about 1:26pm to order. Now, I get it I used to work in a restaurant like this before, it gets busy. It didnt appear busy at this time. While we sat for 15min, we were left with the menus, and brunch menu.
Now a group of other females showed up at 1:25pm. They were catered to instantly, while my family still waited for our drink orders.
Dont know if its due to the fact my family is indigenous and our skin is brown. Idk, usually I keep these experiences to myself, but its 1:47pm now, and my family is just hungry.
Customer service needs to be more organized. Possibly maybe we were honestly forgotten about, and the waitress made an honest mistake?
Left 1 star initially, but 2 for the anticipation of my spinach dip (probably...
