The quality of the food here rivals any Thai food we have had anywhere.... And we love Thai dishes. The flavor of each dish was just perfect. The spices, crispy vegetables, light yet flavorful sauces and perfectly prepared seafood, poultry and tofu were the main attractions (rather than heavy, salty, sauces and overly battered, fried coatings). The presentation was also very appealing.
Chu Chuee was a new dish for us and it was divine. We live in MI and I will make it my mission to find a restaurant that prepares it. We ordered shrimp though the fish sounded amazing too. It had just a hint of kick which was balanced by the coconut milk.
I also really enjoyed the light Coconut soup with white mushrooms, Napa, cauliflower, broccoli, tofu and cilantro. So healthy and bursting with flavor.
We were the only ones present late afternoon on a Saturday though the restaurant had a steady flow of Carey out orders. Our server was so friendly and helpful. Charming personality. Her mother is the chef; kiddos to them both for a job well done. The ambience is very warm and inviting.
The tab was on par with what we usually spend for a good quality dinner.
Southampton Thai Cuisine is such a refreshing choice among the many bar-comfort food restaurants that dot the coastal towns...
Read moreI had heard people rave about this place, I was a bit worried at first but the moment I stepped into the restaurant to order, I knew it was going to be good! The interior is tastefully decorated and gorgeous, and will be a real treat once indoor dining opens up. The staff are also really nice and accommodating. I ordered Spring Rolls, Cashew Orange Chicken with Coconut Rice, Pad Thai, and Mango Coconut Sticky Rice for dessert. Each item was very well portioned, and very tasty. In fact, their spring rolls were the best I've ever had, ANYWHERE! It was SO GOOD! I had never had Cashew Orange Chicken before but there was something in it that was so unique and delicious. I couldn't put my finger on what it was but it was really good and the flavour made it stand out against the Pad Thai. The food was a bit pricy, but honestly, what I had ordered fed 2 people for 3-4 meals, so in the end it really wasn't that expensive. The wait was long, but that's just because the food is so good and it was a rainy day with less people BBQ-ing. They even threw in some Fried Banana for the long wait, which was also really good! Please give this local gem a try and don't let the long wait time deter you. The food is fresh, hot...
Read moreHad lunch here and it was amazing. So good that we got two take out noodle dishes on the weekend that were supposed to come with veggies and tofu. One of them was almost all noodles, a bit of tofu and very few vegetables on top, nothing underneath except noodle and the other almost nothing but a box of noodles, looked like a box of cooked spaghetti. I understand it is a noodle dish we ordered, but if there is nothing in it, it is hardly a meal or worth $20 each. Had to go home and cook to add something to it, which defeated the point of getting take out for $40. It’s a lot of money especially since it was supposed to come with veggies and tofu on top of it. Very disappointing. Won’t be getting take out again, unfortunately. We were such fans after having lunch here during the week which had a variety of vegetables, chicken, tofu, noodles, rice and spring rolls in our two lunch specials. Really nice authentic Thai flavours and great service. I highly recommend their lunch specials...
