Wacky’s — Restaurant in Sault Ste. Marie

This was by far my worst dining experience since being in Sault Ste Marie. I dont even know where to start. First there was a seating issue. There was a large group of us and they would not seat us at a reasonable table, it was 3 mismatched 4 seat tables that made it impossible for all of us to be together. Then one of the guests from the far side came over to say hi to us on the end, and the waitress came to bring our drinks, she got mad at him because he was sitting over there, so we kinda played along thinking it was just a joking banter.. no, she was mad and told him he 'had' to go sit where he ordered from. Then when she took our orders, she took half the table first and left to take another table's order and came back to take the rest of ours. So what happened was, half the table got served and it was 8 minutes before the rest of us got served. 7 adults, 3 children by the way. There was a hair wrapped around the carrots in one of the wings orders. We said hey, she took it back and came back in seconds with a new order, minus the carrots. The carrots are like a staple they add to the dish. As she did was walk away, try to take the hair out and realize it was wrapped to the carrot, so she removed the carrot and brought the dish back...in seconds. So now we take the dish to the bar and ask for it to be removed from the bill. Appetite gone, we dont want it, not a big deal right? Its not like it was a rat or a finger, hairs happen.. so the manager or owner was standing there too and over heard it. We could see he was having some chats with the staff about it, and it was obviously all negative, but towards us, the patrons. Our waitress never came back to the table again except when we called her for the bill. We paid for "Non-Stop Pops" but we only got the initial drink, because she never came back. Even after we were done eating, we stuck around for a few to finish up and say goodbyes, amd she would not come, not to ask how everthing was, nothing. That manager or owner didnt even bother to come over and say something like "oh my gosh, Im so sorry this happened, dont worry we wont charge for the dish and if there is anything I can do let me know." Nope, just dirty looks for the rest of the time we were there. That manager or owner guy eyeballed us while he spoke with 3 different employees, eyeballed as he was walking by us a couple times and then ran out so he didnt have to deal with us. Then, as the word got around the staff what happend, they all were staring at us, walking by, eyeballing us with a couple nasty looks on their faces. All 3 cooks came to the edge of the kitchen doors 1 by 1 to have a good look at us. Have you ever seen the movie Waiting? Omg this is exactly that type of staff. Just a bunch of horrible and unhappy people, with no consideration or respect for their guests. This is the longest review I have ever written, and I have never had such an experience. I am from southern Ontario, and no establishment would ever treat you like this. Maybe 1 employee having a bad day, thats fine, but always followed up by courtesy from management. Sault Ste Marie has some very nice people, but also some of the rudest I have ever encountered. Never ever going back, avoid at all costs. Peace, Love...

Use to go frequently. On last visit, all staff we dealt with were extremely ignorant and rude to myself and friend that I was with. They made unnecessary rude comments to me and to my friend who is incontinent at time. They asked when we were leaving "because he stinks so bad that I can't put anybody close to your table. He did not smell bad at all. I was having supper with him and I would have taken him to bathroom to change. When he was incontinent, I took him to the bathroom immediately and changed him. I emptied garage can and placed a new bag. I asked where do they put garbage outside so I can dispose of. They made ignorant and rude comments. "I'm not taking that!" After I had already told them that I was going to dispose of. It was his birthday. I had called ahead to make arrangements for them to sing for him. I gave waitress candle to put in the cake. We were not done with dinner or drinking and she brought dessert in a take out container. I instructed her to take it back to put on plate with candle and bring his dessert properly. She rudely brought it out and told me that no one is available to sing. Waitress didn't sing, two staff were standing at the bar talking and one was standing where the hostess stands. We ordered another drink. They were not bringing it. The waitress brought the bill. I informed her that we had ordered another drink. She informed me that the bartender was busy, but was standing at bar chatting with another waitress. I pointed that out to her. She then said that the bartender didn't know how to make the beverage. We ordered a beer and a Baileys coffee. We waited another 1/2 hour. I went to the bar (our table was one closest to the bar) and asked the bartender and waitress if I needed to get our drinks myself. Her reply was "we were hoping and waiting for you to leave". I insisted on our beverages. I was not letting rude ignorant staff to ruin his birthday any further. The man I was with, thank God he is hard of hearing so that he did not hear all the rude comments and did though question about "what's taking so long?" . I asked to speak to the manager, they told me the manager was not in. I asked when does manager work (hours). Their reply was they didn't know and the manager does come in everyday! When the waitress came to get payment for the bill. I explained to her that she would have gotten a $15.00 tip but she was getting nothing because of her and other staffs rude and...

Arrived and was told that there would be a 30-35 minute wait for a table, absolutely fine, it was clearly full in the main dining room although there was a large section closed off. Staff were transparent and accurate with the wait time, our group hung out with the two toddlers in the arcade while we waited.

After about 25 minutes it would be fair to say that there were a number of suitable tables in the main area and we discovered the back area to the right of the bar with more empty tables. It was slightly strange that we were not given a table at this point but after 35 minutes we were given a table. Server came and took our drinks order promptly and we ordered food as we were ready to.

Our two beers came to the table completely flat (and actually it turned out a different beer to the one we ordered) I feel this should have been obvious to the pourer. The replacement beers I wouldn't say were that lively but slightly less flat than the first ones.

Based on the style of food and the business of the place at the time we were there (it had got significantly quieter than when we first arrived) it did take a long time to arrive.

I ordered the mac and cheese for my daughter, the image on the kids menu was small and Ill admit I based my expectations on the images of the adult mac and cheese my friend ordered. Was a little disappointed that the kids mac and cheese was Kraft Dinner for $10 (to be fair this did include a drink, side and desert) but a burger or chicken strips being the other options I feel that you could offer up the actual mac and cheese rather than Kraft Dinner!

My food was reasonable but on balance based the seating experience and compared to other budget friendly options in town I probably would not...
