Louise's Kitchen — Restaurant in Smithers

Such a sweet little place to dine in. My server was consistent in refilling my coffee, offered the special of the day when she brought my menu and asked how my morning was. I ordered one pancake and side of bacon. I didn't finish the pancake as it was very large and upon payment my server let me know they are all made in house and not out of a box! The maple syrup was tasty and the coffee hot. Bathrooms were very tidy and clean, overall this place has accessibility for larger bodies as there is no booth seating and the chairs sturdy. There would be accomodation for walking devices or wheelchairs so this was a total win in my books!...

Came when visiting Smithers. I want to leave four stars, which a bit generous, as I’m glad this place exists in such a small town. I ordered eggs over-easy and they were basically over-hard. No one checked on me once and I had to flag down someone for a refill of coffee long after I had emptied my mug. 15 minutes later I had to walk over to the counter and ask for a water.

the prices on the website menu do not reflect the menu in-store. It is priced 20% higher in-store, which is sort of irritating but times change...

I've been a regular customer for over 7 years, and they've never failed with quality, quantity, or that personal service. A recent change of ownership sees long time server buy the business, but nothing has changed as far as quality and service are concerned. Breakfast and lunch ONLY, so get there early to get a seat. Often full at 8am and noon! Well worth the wait. Daily specials, home made borscht and hot soups. Can't say enough good things about one of my fave...
