McDonald's — Restaurant in Smithers

I would give a 0 star on this place if I could. I would stop here on my travels through BC a lot but after my last experience I won’t be. I came through a week ago and went to use the washroom, after being in my vehicle for hours, before ordering and while waiting for my family to come in still. A staff member followed me as soon as I was out of the bathroom. I was still waiting for my family to come in so I decided to look for a seat with an outlet and she followed me to the back of the restaurant, and blocked my way back to a seat with a chair and her arm out. I moved past the chair she had me blocking and as I had no idea what she was doing I tried to sit down and she told me I couldn’t sit there as the lobby was “closed” it was 7:30PM. I couldn’t understand what she was saying to me and it wasn’t until my husband came in and asked for a manager that they backtracked and said I could sit. I haven’t experienced discrimination like that since I was a teen. The worker wouldn’t apologize to me but only to my husband who is very visible Caucasian. I ordered a Seriously chicken BLT meal and I got a Big Mac. I didn't notice until a while later when I had already driven to my cabin we were staying at and unloaded all our stuff...so I called with the hopes they could remedy it for me...they said to drive back in and they would fix it :-( Super hangry at this point. I did go back in, said the mix up again, gave back the Big Mac and the receipt stating what I ordered but they didn't look at it, and this time they gave me a BLT Quarter pounder! So I told them I ordered the seriously chicken BLT! I kind of expected some big apology and maybe some free extra thing...but nothing.

Today I went, reluctantly but because I like their lattes. I ordered a vanilla latte and drove away to where I had to be...and guess what. It is a latte and it smelled great but...

I normally just get coffee at McDonald's but this time we ordered a few quarter pounder meals. I was glad to see that the drive through line was fast as most places take a while. It didn't take long and we got our food. It was hot and surprisingly good lol. There seems to be an ample amount of parking for those who want to rest and eat as well easy access to the main hwy. I would most likely stop there again on my way through. This is probably the only older McDonald's building around that hasn't had an up to date face lift and nice to see lol. It brings...
