Ger-Bo's Steak House — Restaurant in Smiths Falls

The worst dining experience I ever had with boiled t-bone steak. The veggies were frozen and the mashed potatoes tasted microwaved. The waitress informed me the steaks are frozen and thawed in warm water to order. It was sort of grilled in the last minute but with no grill marks. It looked like grey featureless shoe leather. The chef (older fellow about 65) came out and started yelling at me explaining I don't know what I'm talking about because "all restaurants freeze and thaw their steaks to order." He went on to say you can't get fresh steaks this time of year in restaurants. After serving me his boiled steak, he went on to say it was better than anything you can get in Montreal and started screaming at me at my table, eventually telling me to leave the restaurant. I never ever ever had this experience. I've never even written a review before but felt compelled to share this experience. It really was horrible and really shaken me getting yelled at like that. To the owners, there was one waitress there (older lady with medium length hair and glasses) at the time who was friendly and heard all this while the chef came out to yell at me. I would strongly recommend you talk to her about this experience. I should of recorded it because I am sure people won't believe...

I spoke to the owner here a while back, shared with him about if his restaurant treats 1 person well here. He assured me he does, so today I was so excited to eat here, looking forward to it and only 1 family was there. I asked if I could sit by the window and the waitress said immediately, no, u r only 1 person and you can't sit there. I am a Veteran and want to be included and to sit where I want to sit if a restaurant isn't busy but she wanted to put me near the back at a very small table and then tried to offer me a drink. I walked out thinking, yes you do treat 1 person differently. So, I had to go somewhere else down the road. I will never eat at a place where I am less deserving of a nice table than anyone else cause it's just me. I deserve the same courtesy. The boss is nice here but I was hurt by what she did to me in front of the other family. The owner has to be more inclusive to everyone and let people sit where they want to sit. Or find a new waitress. You lost out on 40 dollars every month from me. I cannot chance being treated like this ever...

Have been going here for decades and made a trip home and had to go to Gerbos. I walked up the stairs to a totally empty dining room and the staff was standing against the take out counter. The dining room server finally came out and asked "how many" I said 1 or 2 others were on their way (across the street at the pharmacy.) She said "sit here" and gestured to a line of 2 seaters on the way to the bathrooms. I asked if I could be seated at a table near the window or un the middle that would accommodate 2-3 and she said no. if others came in she could not shuffle tables...well what about if I had 2 come...there is no room to add to the tiny table for 2. THE REATAURANT WAS EMPTY!!! It remained empty for the 15 minutes that I waited for the others to arrive. We went to Rob Roy's, as we had previously gone to Wild Wings and Man Ling and had beautiful meals with great food and service. Gerbos needs to do better! It was ridiculous! It should have...
