Have gone twice to this pub/ restaurant and both times was impressedcwith the sevice. The first time ordered fries..great..hot and fresh. The second time ordered Poutine and not so much...the fries were hot/ fresh but the gravy and cruds were not uup to par. Was told crudcwas refrigerated and thus didn't melt eith the gravy..but the fact was the gravy was luke warm and fir this dish to work the gravy needs to be piping hot!!! The server was great..took it back without fail. Got it back..gravy was added and heated up..this did melt the crud accordingly but it then made the fries slightly soggy..but by now I was hungry and i excepted the meal. The beer on tap was great..not being a big beer drinker I actually was impressed both times at how goid the beer tasted and the choices offered. Sat on the patio and gotta say that it has a nice view of the canal and enjoyed the time spent there. Big umbrellas and tables qere clean and chairs relatively comfortable. Would recomend it for a nice...
Read moreThe food was presented very well and it actually tasted good. The only problem I had was the food was not as hot as I expected it to be like it had sat on the plate longer than it should have before it was served to us. That particular night there was only one waitress serving the restaurant although it was not that busy. The waitress did the best she could getting to everybody. All in all I would go back there the food tasted great. We both have the special of the day which happened to be a hamburger with French fries and on the hamburger we had extra bacon and such it was quite good. They have an outside seating area and live entertainment on certain days of the week. The outside seating area overlooks the canal at the bottom of the locks so it's quite a nice view. I am giving it a 4 star only because of the food...

Clearly noted on the Rob Roy menu is "Montreal Style Smoke Meat", so props to them, they were up front about it. Their "World Famous Twister Wings" were OK, although 8 average-sized wings and little container of sour cream at $20 seemed a little much, especially paired with $9 Coors Light tall boys. In fairness, I suspect that is likely the price for beer at pubs these days. The staff are friendly, the atmosphere is warm and it's a nice place to watch a live band. If you have a chance to see "The Reminants" live, do it. They're fricken awesome. Just eat...
