Today, I had an extremely unsatisfactory encounter at Subway that physically and figuratively left me with a bad taste in my mouth. First of all, I entered the business without being welcomed, which gave off a somewhat unwelcoming vibe.
The situation worsened when I discovered a hair in my sub, which almost immediately caused me to get nauseous. Their cleaning standards are seriously questioned because it's perplexing how such a fundamental part of food hygiene was disregarded.
Adding to it, I had to keep telling employee to add more vegetables as she was putting very less topping everytime, They could not hear my order the first time, and their lack of effort to clarify or pay attention made the ordering process frustrating and impersonal.
Adding to this, when I was asked to pay extra for side sauce. This certainly took away from the overall value of the dinner, as it felt like a nickel-and-dime approach.
In summary, my experience at Subway fell very short of my expectations. I have no interest in going back because of the inadequate portions, bad hygiene, and bad customer service....
Read moreI walked in to order my usual: turkey, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and mayo all on Artisan Italian bread. The lady who worked there told me there were only 2 turkey slices instead of 3, even though I go daily and order it every day. I know they put 3 turkey slices! She got snarky and said other places are just being nice to me. I told her, "No, go read the chart; it’s 3 slices." Once she put my sandwich in the toaster, she added that I can’t choose my own toppings and that it only comes with two toppings, which are spinach and something else. At that point, I decided to leave. I’ve been to plenty of locations in the Edmonton area and have never been told there’s a limit on toppings or which toppings I can have, nor have I ever encountered such condescending and sarcastic remarks from an employee. I worked at Subway when I was younger, and I definitely remember being told that customer service was number one. I always treated every customer with warm greetings and a welcoming demeanor. I guess the customer service industry has gone down the drain. By the way, it’s the employee with the missing teeth. *Never returning again also telling my friends and family avoid this...
Read moreMade an order through the app. Picked up the sub and realize later they had forgotten to put cheese on it. Called in to let them know for no other reason then to just let them know they made a mistake. Lady was very pleasant and offered to make another sub for us. Went in without any issue got the new sub (which she made in front of me) and was very happy with the experience. Obviously it would be better if it was made right the first time but the five star review is for how good the food was and how professional they handled the complaint. Will definately return to this location. The app needs to have a plan ahead function as you aren't able to put in an order unless they are open. Not sure why I can't put a order in so that once they're open they can make it and I can come get it. Similar apps have this function at other restaurants and makes things very convenient then having to wait for the store to open to put...
