Your MUST rest stop before heading to Whistler. A hidden authentic Japanese mini “grocery” store, cafe and poke spot. All the ingredients are fresh and delicious. The TRIP TUNA filled me up and I couldn’t get over with how fresh the fish was. I wasn’t able to try their cafe goods, but hopefully one day I will. Their mini grocery store has instant miso soup that wasn’t powder - which was the one I normally buy. MAN, was I missing out cause they used REAL miso in the “instant” one. Their mini grocery store has more little snacks you’d enjoy and they’re also very helpful if you have any questions. Will def make this forever pit stop.

This hidden gem is a must try if you are in Squamish or even passing by. Japanese owners selling authentic healthy Japanese food. The soup of my chicken soba tastes just like homemade soup with no MSG and they loaded it up with lots of yummy vegetables plus tofu. They told me the soup was made one hundred percent with vegetables such as shitake mushrooms. The portions are great the money they charge. My wife's tuna trio bowl has massive pieces of very fresh tuna and absolutely loaded with a variety of fresh vegetables and a healthy scoop of fish roe.

The salmon poke bowl was so good and enough to share with another person if you don't want to be too stuffed. The dish was well seasoned and not inundated with sauces or mayonnaise as is typical of other places. I was craving something sweet after the bowl so I got the butter tart. I was expecting it to be too sweet but it was actually ok (not saying it wasn't sweet. It's still a butter tart) and I enjoyed the couple of raisins at the bottom that were nice and plump. The employees here are also really friendly and polite

I stopped at this cafe while I was in Squamish. I chose this place for lunch for I had found really good reviews online and Kululu exceeded my expectations on all levels. I love Japanese restaurants that are run by Japanese people and this place has that authentic Japanese cafe feel to it. I loved the atmosphere of the place when I walked in. It is clean, bright, minimalist, and cute. You have a clear view of The Chief from any table inside the restaurant. They have poke bowls with tuna, tofu, and vegetables, and also have udon noodles with chicken and vegetables. If you are ordering a poke bowl, I highly recommend that you get a combo deal for extra $3 which will get you a bowl of miso soup, gomaae, and edamame. Their miso soup was the best I had ever had. And yes, I have been to high end Japanese restaurants in Vancouver, but not many people seem to know how to make good miso soup; it is either too salty or too watery with no flavour in most places. Kululu got it right though and I enjoyed every drop of my miso soup. Also, their gomaae sauce was absolutely delicous with just the right amount of nuttiness and sweetness. Now I think of it, I should have asked the lady at the shop how they made the sauce. For my tuna poke bowl, I asked for hot sauce and they gave me a little bowl of spicy sauce made with Korean chili paste. It was quite good. The sashimi was fresh and the temperature of the tuna was perfect. It was such a delightful meal and I enjoyed every bite of it. If this place were in Kitsilano or Yaletown, I would go there every week. So, the next time you are passing through Squamish, please make sure to stop at Kululu and have a poke bowl with a bowl of miso soup. You...

After our stay in Nita Lake Lodge, we decided to stopover on our way back to Vancouver and eat at this nice rustic place called Kululu Cafe. The staff were nice and friendly and the food was good.

I ordered the salmon poke bowl and the portion were plenty but the salmon itself were not that many so hopefully we can get more portion for the salmon next time!

They have a Japanese store inside so if you're looking to buy your groceries, you can get it there as well.

What's a bit weird though is they do not check vaccine cards right now even though it's mandatory province wide as they seem to not be a registered restaurant or something along that lines according to the note they put up in...

The best kept secret in Squamish. We are here today for lunch so started with Miso soup the I am having the tuna trio bowl, yum looks great and it was. Now please let me comment about them Restaurant, from the outside where I am sitting it's nice, clean and tidy but does not have the good looks the inside is so much better but on traditional Japanese style it's simple, very clean and tidy. This has the most fantastic food that comes out of the kitchen. As the saying goes Don't judge the book by the cover. That applies here for sure. Such nice owners. Now they have moved to new premises they have maintained the superior quality and the new...
