Sorry to say that this was an overall terrible experience. We aren’t the types of people to complain and have never provided a review on any other restaurant even if we didn’t really enjoy the experience as we believe that business owners need to pay their bills especially during this difficult time, but this time I couldn’t ignore it...

The prices are high, the food isn’t even close to authentic and the tacos, burrito bowl, and burrito were all strangely full of shredded cabbage? In addition, the menu sign on the food truck says that the taco tortillas are corn, and since I can’t eat wheat I ordered 2 chicken tacos. We specifically dine at Mexican restaurants as a family due to my dietary restrictions as they use corn almost exclusively for tacos.

After I bit into the taco and ate the first 2 bites I realized that the tortilla was a flour tortilla. When I went to the counter and asked, the man in the truck admitted that they have “nothing corn and everything flour”? So I asked why it would say corn on the menu sign and I simply got a blank stare and shrug. When I ordered, I had also made sure that the chicken was not breaded but I guess that didn’t click with him.

Since I was getting no decent response, I asked that he take down the sign before someone else gets sick (like I did) but he remained in the truck, never coming out to remove the sign. Never apologizing for my “getting glutened” unnecessarily.. and not refunding my money for food I couldn’t eat. My daughter had the fried chicken poutine and said that it was okay, but loaded with copious amounts of black pepper and my partner got a very plain cheese quesadilla with zero flavour. It looked like a store bought Dempsters tortilla with marble cheddar melted inside.. then he started to eat his burrito but couldn’t stomach the salty meat seasoned with too much cumin and taco seasoning as well as that weird cabbage flavour so he threw it out.

Clearly, this experience was a total disappointment, with terrible customer service.

We had high hopes as Sunny Chibas had a huge line and 40 min wait last night and Mag’s had been good in the past and had no line.(lesson learned, there’s a reason there’s a line up!) In a nutshell, we threw away $70 last night and all we got in return is me in bed sick today. Obviously we won’t go back. Gluten free and celiac people- beware. False advertising that can make...

This place used to be great. I’d get takeout 1-3 times/week. Then one time for no reason my burrito was FULL of hotttt sauce. Now, I like hot sauce, I like hot food, but this was way beyond. I honestly felt like they played a prank on me or something. I called with a burning mouth and was offered a free burrito. I showed up a few days later and the same person who had offered me a free burrito said she could only give me 50% off now. Frustrated, I asked for the manager/owner and after her initial skepticism she gave me my free burrito. Now the real issue. That replacement burrito was beyond dry, there was ZERO sauce in it. Being that I had just complained about too much hot sauce I though ok, they were just being extra careful. So the next time I go in I tell the person I would like the normal amount of hot sauce, not zero. I get home, same. Dry. Burrito. I tried maybe 6-8 times to get a normal burrito and I noticed that when I see the staff who recognize me I get a dry, sauce less burrito. But if it was a new staff member I’d get a tasty burrito with sauce. So I go in, see who’s working the counter and just leave if it was one of the staff who like to give me (not hot) sauce less burrito. This has been going on for over a year now and I just had my last dry burrito. There was a new person at the counter but after I ordered one of the old staff saw me and sure enough, I get a dry/barely edible burrito. I give up. Your staff have successfully scared me away from...

I don't typically leave 1 star reviews, but this was quite a bizarre experience.

I ordered the fried chicken poutine. First of all: that was not fried chicken. It looked like the breaded chicken from Walmart that was cut up into small pieces. I'm not sure why they call themselves a fried chicken place, if the chicken isn't fried to begin with. Like sure, if you wanna serve cut up Great Value chicken, whatever, but don't call it fried chicken. Second: it was all stale. The fries would've been fine had they been fresh, and they were clearly not. The gravy wasn't even hot, it was a sad sight to see. I finished 1/3rd of it before I tossed it out.

My spouse ordered the fried chicken burrito bowl, and his contained no fried chicken either. It was the same type of chicken as my dish. They basically just put a mountain of cabbage along with some sad ranch with a pocket of rice and beans underneath, and called that a burrito bowl. He couldn't finish his either.

The food alone doesn't warrant the one star review, but the service does. Bathroom wasn't clean or stocked with toilet paper, tables were dirty, and the lady at the front was just sitting on her phone in plain sight. Now, I'm not anti-phone at work, but in plain sight? Gotta at least attempt to hide it, no?

Anyway, I was disappointed enough to write this review, which is a...

So I've been told I NEED to come to Mags 99 and some of my friends actually drive to Squamish just to have it. Right as you are entering Squamish you will see Mags on the right by the gas station. From the outside it appears to be a fast food restauRant but it's all good quality food and definitely not fast. Be prepared for a crazy wait as it's usually 30-45 mins. I actually got lucky on my first shot and breezed through in 15 minutes so that was a nice surprise. Staff was friendly and delivered the food right at the promised time. I was told to have the burritos but I just don't LOVE burritos so I went for the Quesadillas and just for the hell of it I had to have to the poutine as well. I will say the quesadillas were okay - nicely cooked on one side and soggy on the bottom. If I had waited 45 minutes for them, I would have been giving this an entirely different rating...I feel quesadillas are pretty easy to make so they should have been better. I also tried the poutine and although a Little heavy handed with the pepper, I enjoyed them and the gravy which I believe was chicken based gravy. I would absolutely come back and try those burritos 🌯 like I was told BUT only if the line was reasonable. The prices were decent and it's worth a try I think!

Please do not eat here. If I could've given it zero stars, I would have. Do yourself a favor and go to McDonald's. Far superior. I got a taco for $5.25. It was the size of my palm. could've gotten more full if I had eaten a five dollar bill. And I would've saved $.25. The taco was actually delicious (fried pork with feta). I just wish that I had some kind of cloning device. The poutine was soaked and sodium overload. They charge us $1.25 extra for a gluten-free tortilla but they didn't have any so they offered us a tablespoon of sour cream instead. A good exchange, if you ask me. The food was so bad that my husband is literally eating the sour cream out of the container with a knife rather than finishing the food. The employees were extremely detached and completely uninterested in assisting me in finding pleasure in my dining experience. The environment inside and the decour was bizarre and a bit distressing. The music, reggae, was loud and maybe the only redeeming quality… and I don't even like reggae. If nothing else, let this review serve as a warning and provide a tiny bit of deadpan humor in an otherwise drab environment. I write all of this while laughing. (Though the facts are true. Please enjoy the picture of my poutine.)
