AMIR Middle East Grill — Restaurant in St. Catharines

February 10, 2025 walked in there. At 11:30 to place an order. I was the only person in there. The gentleman asked me what I would like. I said I would like a shawarma plate. The gentleman continued to clean his store, while I was standing there on top of that 2 girls walked in after me, he asked them what they wanted and served them continuously had me standing there for another 15 minutes to the point where I had to walk out poor service. Not pleased as I drove from.welland to try their menu then I go to try and do the order by delievery and then the order doesn't show up by the driver after we paid for it so poor of service and not impressed at all we even called store to report out order missing and the gentleman said he try to find our order and call back and here we still await a call not impressed and now out of food ans money. After all of the confusion and getting hold of the store again, the owner went above and beyond and drove his own car to deliver our order to us even including freebies in the order. We’ve been to Amir Middle East Grill a few times now, and while the food is consistently amazing — fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care — the long wait times have unfortunately become a major issue for us.

Even when we pre-order and request a specific pickup time, we often arrive to find that the food hasn’t even been started yet. Every visit takes at least 30 minutes, sometimes more, which defeats the purpose of pre-ordering and makes the overall experience quite frustrating.

Amir himself is a wonderful and kind person, and you can tell he puts love into what he does. That’s what makes this even more disappointing — we want to support this place, but the unpredictability and delays make it hard to rely on.

Also, parking in the area is very challenging, which adds to the stress when waiting already feels excessive.

With a little improvement in organization and timing, this place could easily become a go-to spot. Hoping things improve, because the food truly deserves better service to match...
