Golden Grill — Restaurant in St. Catharines

Let’s start out by saying one of two things… why isn’t there more places like this?!! The food? Delicious. Cooked to perfection. Price? Way better and more affordable than any other place that does an all day breakfast. Quality and care of your meal? Check and check.

It’s a small family owned restaurant that has been around for, around 40 years? I may be off on that. But it’s local. Serves the community. Great prices. Fantastic portions. I do not say this often… a place actually worth the money.

Which brings up the second point… how is there not a lineup around the block? Honestly. I’m not a bot. I’m not a paid actor. This has everything going for it. Some have complained that they don’t accept debit… bring cash… saves everyone money. Not a problem. The owners but that extra cost into making sure the prices are reasonable.

That’s a win in my book. I spent a few moments with the owners as they both came by the table to ask and make sure everything was up to their standards. Bill and… Tom(so close). We’re absurdly amazing. I left feeling happy I spent money here AND look forward to going back. Amazing job fellas. I wish you absolutely nothing but success.

Please note they have extended hours Tuesday through Saturday? Open till 12am. 8-2 Sunday and Monday. Please support local. This is the place you want to go and invest your time in.

Extra note… a shout out to the boys mom. You want simply the most delicious coconut cream pie. Home made. Oh my god. No pic. Order it yourself. I guarantee you’ll love it. Thanks again. Highly highly...

I'm a little bit reluctant to share this review as it may result in this great diner with great breakfast getting really busy

First the servers and cooks are really friendly and approachable The food and portions are excellent... home fries are properly roasted...if you order bacon the amount is more than most places... coffee is free fill up... it's an old style diner with booth seating as well as normal seating...can accommodate up to 50+ diners ... prices are extremely reasonable especially considering the quality, quantity and free coffee refill...be advised that if you come during the brunch hours it will be busy... but you will be thankful you came...opens at 8am( best time as you'll sit down enjoy your first cup of java and voila your food is ready)... forewarning CASH only ATM on site... parking in the rear or across the street at the plaza

ps.. don't be fooled by the outside appearance... you're there for the food not what the exterior looks like 😉

After seeing this restaurant downtown for years and never going I decided to give it a try. I was extremely happy with the price, quality, quantity and taste of my breakfast.

Breakfast is served all day and I had 2 eggs, hash browns and toast for $5.95 and my compaian had a big breakfast for around $14. He received 5 or 6 pieces of bacon two sausages, home fries, toast, two eggs and two pancakes.

Despite looking a little questionable on the outside the inside was clean and bright. You can see where they make your food and servers were very friendly.

The parking lot is a nightmare unless you have a tiny compact car or motorbike so I would recommend parking on the street.

I would definitely recommend trying out the Golden griddle for breakfast and I will be going back to try the Friday night fish and chip special in the...
