It's a takeout place that should be a 100 seater restaurant charging a pretty penny! It is anything but. The food is exceptional. EXCEPTIONAL. The owner a very hardworking sweetheart. And the the food. Aiyaaa....nothing can be said about the pita pockets "secret menu" item except yummmmmmmmmmmm yummm. You just have to try it and then thank me for introducing it to you. (It is made with a special bread that he bakes in very limited amounts fresh every day, so be there, or be square!) The dinner plates, the shawarma and the desserts are all exceptional too! As are the meat pies. We live over a 100 kms away and I came back to get some of the best shawarma this side of Beirut within 3 weeks of trying it for the first time. Do yourself a favor and try this place out. Better yet take a few of your loved ones. I just realized that I am gushing. But as I write this I am dreaming of the next time we are in the vicinity of this wonderful little place. It's about thyme for sure. All day, everyday. We wish the owner who works so hard from morning till night, continued success in the...

You know how sometimes you read glowing reviews and think, “These people must be related to the owner”? Well, let me tell you—It’s About Thyme is the real deal, and every rave review is 100% earned.

I’m not exaggerating when I say I had the best shawarma in town here. Every bite was bursting with flavor, perfectly balanced, and made with care. This place doesn’t just meet expectations—it crushes them.

Owner (Sam): 5/5 – Sam is a rockstar! Warm, friendly, and genuinely committed to making every customer feel like family. Food Flavor: 5/5 – Absolutely incredible. Fresh ingredients, bold spices, and perfect execution. Cleanliness: 5/5 – Spotless! You can tell they take pride in every detail. If you’re in St. Catharines and you haven’t tried this place yet, do yourself a favor: drop everything and head over. Trust me,...

Best Falafel Sandwich in Town!

I stopped by It’s About Thyme and tried the falafel sandwich hands down!!! one of the best I’ve ever had! Perfectly crispy on the outside, soft and flavorful on the inside, with fresh toppings and just the right amount of sauce. You can really taste the quality and care Sam puts into the food. This place is a must-try if you love falafel or just great eats in general!

Also Incredible Shawarma! The shawarma at It’s About Thyme is next-level—juicy, perfectly seasoned, and wrapped in fresh pita with all the right toppings. Every bite is bursting with flavor! Sam really knows how to bring out authentic, delicious taste in every dish. If you’re a shawarma fan, this spot is a must

All I can say is that I wish I lived closer! The owner, Sam, is probably the most kind human being ever. He’s always doing things for the community and supporting Gillian’s Place. Then there is the food. Authentic, delicious Lebanese food, need I say more! His food is out of this world! Full of flavor and good serving sizes. You can’t go wrong. Everything is fresh and delicious. His garlic sauce is so good that I always have to order extra. The chicken and beef shawarma are excellent, so is the pocket. He has so many beautiful baked goods that he makes and they’re all tasty. Everything is perfectly seasoned, moist, tender, and fresh. You can’t go wrong no matter what you choose. I always walk away completely satisfied.

Cold falafel. Never been served anything like that before, not sure what happened. Soggy cold falafel, cold bread wrap straight from the fridge, super unappetizing cold wet soggy falafel wrap. Strange pasty sauce tasted like raw tahini and strange guy who worked there. Won't be back. The only redeeming thing was that the parsely in the toppings was decently fresh. Why have a restaurant if you're going to serve cold falafel on a cold piece of pita bread? Went back to complain but they closed early. Would not recommend, there's a hundred other better places to go! Very disappointed

I'm not the type to leave a review but this? I have too! I lived in the middle east this was authentic I've also tasted different kind of shawarmas in all st cathraines but nothing was as good as this place! The signs says best shawarma in town you better believe that's 100% true ! Yesterday I tried the beef pocket and it was exactly as described the flavors in the meat, the bread, the tomatoes and pickles garlic yum yum!!! I dont know why it's a secret honestly it would sell out lol. The pocket was so filling that I still had enough left for the next day.
