My wife and me went at the Niagara Outlet in Niagara On The Lake. It was dinner time when we decided to just eat dinner to a nearby place. We were craving for some Vietnamese food Pho and searched on the map and the name of the restaurant came up and we have the similar name restaurant to where we live. Of course we thought that it woulld just as be as good as the go to vietnamese restaurant we all known so well for ages. Then we got at the restaurant oh yeah it is a bit tricky to find especially at night , the parking area is not well lit and there is a metal gate and who would think that there is an entrance as our gps suggests. So had to made a few turns to go back at the location that our gps is set to. From the outside is it really hard to picture that there is a restaurant there parking area not really inviting and goes for the restaurant as well, but we don’t mind as long as the food is amazing. The same as our first experience at our to go Vietnamese spot and I believe the original location is still not changed but it get busy whenever we are there and that’s a sign that this is the spot. Our order came the wife ordered the beef noodle soup and I did quality taste and it is good and my order came vermicelli with sautéed beef in lemon grass and pepper, and i was really disappointed it was nothing close to our go to spot , the beef is not grilled and has no taste and the fish sauce is really far off. Every time i order that dish me and my wife fight over who gets to finish the dish. We are full but we still have that craving that’s why we always bring our families and friends at that restaurant it is soo good as soon as you are headed home the taste already reminding us to go...
Read moreI feel really sad to give two stars to this restaurant. We used to live in NOTL and visited this restaurant regularly because of the great food and friendly staff.
My brother-in-law and his family are visiting us from abroad, and we took them to this restaurant after visiting Niagara Falls and NOTL. We were very excited to show them great Vietnamese food and the hospitality of this restaurant in St. Catharines. We arrived at around 9:25 PM (the restaurant closes at 10:00 PM). We asked the crew if it was okay to dine in, and they said yes. We ordered Pho (rare beef), a vermicelli bowl, and Bahn Mi.
Food: The food was good as always. I still really enjoy this restaurant's food, and I give it 4 stars. Service: Unfortunately, the service was terrible. All the staff looked rushed, unapproachable, and acted cold (as if thinking, "Why are you here at this time of night?" despite us politely asking if it was okay to dine in before we sat down; they could have just told us the kitchen was closed). Cashier: The cashier, who appeared to be the manager, entered the total amount into the POS machine and quickly selected a 15% service fee. When I mentioned that I wished I had the chance to decide, they responded that it was restaurant policy and that we had to pay the service fee (for party of 6?). I have to say, I didn't see this policy on any menu, as far as I remember. In conclusion, this restaurant used to have a different manager, and I wonder if the new one is more focused on revenue than on...
Read moreThe worst Pho Dau Bo Restaurant I ever ate and have been served by a lazy waitress. AVOID this restaurant, personel is negligent, if you have kids.
We were a party of six 4 adults and 2 children. We were seated by a host, then got the menu. There was no customer in the restaurant at the time we got there. We were waiting 10 minutes to get a glass of water. Then I was a bit not happy then, call the waitress to give the order. She DID NOT WANT to take the order. She wants to give a piece paper to give her the order number. I was shocked, by the way she was telling me. Well I'm not used this kind or waitress treatment.
Once the order has been placed, the waitress served us the soup. But, she was SO NEGLIGENT, she brought the HOT SOUP over the HEAD of my daughter, luckily there was no accident. The thing is: the food tasted so bad, the soup broth TASTE LIKE WATER. the dish of rice with minced pork, Vietnamese meat loaf and pork chop(com ba mau) taste like papier mache and so salty(they put raw nuoc man on the meat loaf). Banh coun was so dry, my daughter...
