It really pains me to do this. I ordered an eggplant parmigana with tiramasu and the simple reason for my 1 star is that i specifically said no bacon on the ceasar salad and come to the bottom of the salad and what i thought was a piece of cruton was actually bacon, see picture. Now I know they heard me say no bacon because as you can see from the first picture there is no bacon on it. You know, if I didnt eat meat for religious reasons, what would you do? I dont eat meat for personal reasons and I was absolutley disgusted when i tasted that these morsels were bacon. I dont even see a point in reviewing the food because this was a deplorable lapse in quality. Clearly the salads are just thrown together without care or you pre prepare them and scraped the bacon off mine, either way its very disheartning as a consumer. I paid $41 for this meal, which I felt was steep, but it was alot of food, so I was ok with the price when I saw what I got, but that piece of bacon killed it for me, I wound up throwing out the food I was so disgusted and just ate at home. How did this happen, as a consumer I feel like you don't care about dietary restrictions, as a "fine italian" restaurant charging fine italian food prices, I expect better. Also the person who took my order repeated back to me, ceasar salad no bacon. In 40 years of buying food from restaurants I've never seen a slip like this. For reference I ordered at 6:11pm March 29th and I have a picture of the reciept if Lina wants to somehow make this right.

We’ve been going to Lina’s since it opened in the early 1990s. It’s a comfortable restaurant, and the food is mostly good, though its main problem is the inconsistency in the quality of the food. Sometimes, you’ll get a fabulous angel hair pasta with shrimp, for instance, and the next time it’s swimming in water on the plate and there might be a really small amount of garlic or cheese, or shrimp, resembling nothing of what you remembered from the last time you ordered it. At a cost of $22.99 you’d expect consistency. We frequently order the chicken Asiago pizza, and that’s a definite hit or miss. The last one we had looked totally dried out and the cheese was barely melted. Yet, we had one last summer when we brought our family to the restaurant and it was delicious, but again, you never really know what to expect. I think quality checks are needed. The owner(s) ought to have someone order a take-out and see what the dish looks like when they receive it. Lina’s, you have to get consistency in the quality of your dishes!

This is an honest review. I rarely give one/two stars. Loved the decor, ambience and the service. However, the food did not live up to our expectations. We are italian, and this review may be more critical than others. Many dishes offered are made with tomatoe sauce…. and the sauce here needs A LOT of improvement. To our Italian family, it was inedible. I ordered the Black Truffel Sachetti Pasta and it was good (was not made with tomatoe sauce). The others in our group all ordered tomatoe sauce based dishes - veal parmigiana, linguine, gnocchi - and most of the food was not eaten. The salads were good (Caesar and Lina’s house salad). Lastly… the pizza, we ordered the Capricciosa. Firstly, capricciosa pizza is not made the way this place makes it. That aside, it wasn’t good. We did order 3 espressos and they were delish. I can’t give this place more than a one star. The service and people were wonderful, as was the decor.

If there was an option to give this restaurant no stars, I would. I went here with my friend August 22 2021, based on the reviews on google. BIG MISTAKE. Although at the beginning of our service, the waitress was nice, that quickly changed once we received our pasta (main dish) order and shared the feedback with her. Firstly, we received water that came out of the pop gun that has a faint taste of flat coca cola( pop). The bread that we ordered came out, it was chewy. Non the less, we didn't say anything as those are minor details and waited patiently (40 mins) for our 2 pasta dishes. The pasta dishes come with a side salad, we both ordered Cesar salads, which came out quick and tasteful. I ordered the chicken and prosciutto penne, which came out drenched in oil, salty with burnt garlic and onions and heaping table spoon of goat cheese to most likely cover up the disaster. My friend ordered the Gnocchi Parmigina. The Gnocchi were rubber and stuck to the roof of your mouth as the "homemade" pasta sauce washed right off the pasta. But again, this meal was drenched in cheese to mask the plate. We called our waitress over to share our feedback (we hardly touched the pasta) to which she then put on an attitude and said she would see what she can do and talk to the chef- not sure why she wouldn't talk to the manager lol She comes out, and says that she cant do anything and hands me the bill for full price and asks if i want to take this food home! The total of the meal was over $50! I paid as i did not want to make a scene, I understand Customer Service and others were in the restaurant, so as I headed out I asked to speak to the Manager discretely, and as i shared the story, she just started blankly at me and asked if i have ever eaten pasta before! She said all she could do was refund 1 dish, but since I paid debit she would have to call the accountant to do a refund but they will not be in until later in the week. Times are hard during covid, but keeping a customers money is disgusting. I also tipped the waitress even with her piss poor attitude, as I understand business' are struggling and I want to support local. Go to Johnny Rocco's (its 10 mins from this dump) at least they treat you right and...

Indont write long reviews but thought this was warranted. I used to come here a lot when I used to live in St. Catharines and wantes my wife and daughter tontry it for their first tine. It used to be great! Not this time. We went in on Saturday night September 13th. It was busy and had to wait for a table. (20 minutes) no complaints, it was busy. The issue was the wait and food quality! We waited ove 30 minutes after our Ceasar salads came out. (Which were the best part of the meal) People tgat sat after us were getting their meals before us. The food finally arrived (Chicken Alfredo, Shrimp Alfredo and a chicken sandwich) should be easy as it is an Italian eatery. The pasta dishes had different Alfredo tastes, the one was bland and had Alfredo soup at the bottom of the bowl, the chicken on top of the Alfredo was over grilled, which ended up being the same on the sandwich. I asked the waitress if there was any issues in the kitchen as we could tell something was wrong with food quality and wait times. The waitress replied yes they were having issues. We talked a bit and was told the manager would be made aware. I thought maybe the manager would arrive to discuss the issue but nothing happened. The waitress did offer us a free desert since she saw the food quality and we waited a long time for the food to arrive. I just thought that if they knew there were issues in the kitchen they would at least make sure the food quality was on par and not making olive garden look and taste like we were in Italy. Won't be going back...
