Sunset Grill on Fourth in St. Catharines..wow wow. We had an amazing breakfast experience. Plenty of staff to fill our coffee, take away our dishes, and food served with kindness and laughter by Rochelle. One of the most attentive staff and owners I have seen in awhile. He managed his kitchen and floor with precision, even coming to each table and asking about our experience. I have eaten at Michelin star restaurants and the service here was in that realm. I get it, it is only breakfast, but with everything going on it was so refreshing. Very fair prices for the food and very tasty. Something for everyone. Thank you to all of the staff who showed up and worked hard with a smile to make our experience wonderful. It's the little things. I have never been into any restaurant where the staff has come back to my table so many times check whether everything was good and offer us more coffee. And many times it wasn't even our own waitress that offered us the coffee. Just so the right people get the credit I was in there yesterday Wednesday February 22nd and the two ladies that were working the floor were the most attentive waitresses I've ever had and I managed three restaurants here in the city and outside of the city and I would have been blessed to have any of them working for me. I don't know if you can add to your menu or maybe offer it a once a month special but potato pancakes with sour cream and applesauce on the side are always a hit and unfortunately I'm forced to go to Perkins to get them and I'd love to have another place to get potato pancakes. If I could give a zero star I would. I walked in to obviously eat today. The sign up the front says seat yourself so I proceeded to use the washroom as I’m walking through. I am greeted by a woman where we exchange a polite hi, how are you? I come out and seat myself, as per the sign states. Two females have obviously seen me when decided to check on a table 2 feet for me. I proceeded to sit and wait, after making eye contact. would say sat for a good 7 minutes. I hear cutlery being rolled this place wasn’t busy. So I got up and left. Poor Customer service, these two women obviously are entitled to their job and don’t care to provide a service that is required by their contract from this establishment.
