I went in to order my food this evening around 6:30 pm. Ordered a shawarma wrap combo and a sloppy Moes salad. Lady made the wrap, shoved it over to another employee and said finish this for him. So I waited… and waited. Cashier guy said come down and pay. Told him I was waiting for a sloppy moe. She said she was waiting for fries and admitted she forgot about my sloppy moes. That’s fine. It’s busy…. Messes up the sloppy moe right in front of me. Twice. I wasn’t asked what sauce I wanted for the salad as the menu says choice of fattoush or Shelbys dressing. She put shelbys dressing on it without me paying attention. I wanted Fattoush… She was in a huge hurry so that means it would take time to ask the customer what they want….
Your staff needs to slow down!!! I said this to the cashier last time I was in…. As a customer watching that place operate is so aggravating. Staff looks super unorganized, they look super tense and under pressure. Definitely different from the other fun energetic shelbys I’ve been to in London. The exact same thing happened during my first visit. I feel like the main focus in that restaurant is speed and not the customer service and or customer interaction.
So my second sloppy moes gets to the dresser. Guy says “chipotle sauce?” I responded “ummmm…. “ I didn’t even get a chance to respond and he turned it into a chipotle swamp. I then finally said “holy guys!! You honestly need to slowwwww down a bit. I'm writing this review as a warning to others after a disappointing and unpleasant experience at Shelby's Legendary Shawarma in St. Thomas. As a regular customer, I was shocked and saddened by the consistent decline in food quality.
On Saturday, May 24th, 2025, I ordered a Regular Brotein Shawarma Wrap via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the food was contaminated, and I ended up with food poisoning. This wasn't an isolated incident; my friends had a similar experience the week before, and I had also felt unwell after eating from Shelby's previously.
The repeated instances of food poisoning have led me to lose trust in Shelby's ability to serve safe and quality food. It's clear that the kitchen and serving staff need to prioritize food safety and quality control.
I urge the management to take immediate action to address these issues and ensure that their customers receive the quality food they deserve. Until then, I would advise others to avoid Shelby's Legendary Shawarma in St. Thomas.

Read moreFantastic... All around fantastic! Tried Shelby's for the first time not long ago and have already returned several times... Found a new favourite here for sure. Everything I've tried has been absolutely delicious. Recently it was my son's birthday and when asked what he wanted for his birthday dinner he requested Shelby's. We happily obliged and ordered a couple of platters for us to share with family. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up our order I mentioned to the cashier (who I subsequently found out was also the owner) that it was my son's birthday and that he had chosen Shelby's as his birthday dinner. He seemed genuinely delighted to hear this and enthusiastically wished my son a happy birthday, but then also handed me a lovely box of sweets to give to him for his birthday. The meal was constantly interrupted by exclamations of delight at the delicious food... Everyone absolutely loved it... And my son could not have been happier to receive such a special gift from "Shelby". He loved the special sweets as did everyone else. The fantastic food would have kept us coming back but the thoughtful kindness of the owner made it a truly memorable experience. Five stars is not enough! Thank you and see you again soon!
