We visited this place for breakfast when spending the weekend in Stratford. I chose this place because of its high reviews, and I missed looking at the negative reviews. Later when I looked at the 1 star reviews, I noticed that they were really consistent, which means something. We waited for almost 30min to be seated as there was a lineup. We said to ourselves hopefully it is going to be worth it. The waitress tried to pick the people behind us saying I have a table for 2. But in fact we were also 2 adults and a toddler. So when i objected, they seated us. So here was the first strike. After getting seated, we ordered. All went well. They brought everything except water, which if you think about it should come without ordering it. So waved to a waistress, who looked at me without even reacting or stopping - extremely rude. Apparently she told our table waitress who brought us one cup of water. We asked for another and she literally asked « was I supposed to get you 2? ». I mean who asks this question in a restaurant? Very rude. She never brought it. We had to ask another waitress who was nice to listen and bring it. Now our table waitress all of a sudden changed 180 degrees and started being nice. I don’t understand whether she is schizophrenic or because she is anticipating the tip at the end. The food was less than average for me. The steak was gamy and fatty and not good quality at all. So what’s the buzz of 4.6 stars. Are people’s expectations that low these days? And where does this rudeness come from. Is it because we look strangers to town. Are they not welcoming to tourism. Shame on them. I would never recommend this place ever. But I also know that they don’t care because they...
Read moreBest breakfast place in Stratford. Raidyn was courteous as he welcomed me and took me to my table. Kaleigh was the wait staff looking after me. She quickly walked me through the menu as it was my first time at this restaurant, but I knew exactly what I wanted, she was quick with service, attentive filling up my coffee and checking to see if I needed anything further and all this with a warm smile and pleasant demeanor. While dining, I noticed Raidyn seemed to be everywhere, not only being a host and checking in with everyone, but clearing and even helping to clean the tables, as the place was bustling with people and a line outside. Looking to enjoy this favourable experience, the second time I visited, I was looked after by Simone who did a great job too and this time I noticed Josh with a funky hairstyle, an understudy of Raidyn I presume, as I had seen him also on my previous visit and this time he was being a host as well as clearing and cleaning tables. Gosh this staff works really hard, are all exceptional with their customer service and are incredibly fast, with getting people in and out, offering a great experience while being courteous and attentive. Great job...
Read moreOverall a very decent breakfast/lunch spot. We visited around 11am on a Sunday and it was understandably quite busy, not to mention it being one of the few restaurants open on Sundays. I want to say arrive as early as possible.
There was a lineup out the door, no big deal. Being able to check in with the host station, give your name, get a pager, etc., would have been nice however. Once the lineup blocks the door, you feel uncomfortable walking in and pushing past people to get in "queue", if for example you only need a table for two but have 3 groups ahead of you with parties of six. Waited about 20-30 minutes and got in.
The interior is quite bland and could use some character - the aesthetic of the large windows and brick is nice, but everything else is a monotone white/grey with limited decoration.
Food was great and worth the wait, I however wish they would spruce up their homefries a bit. It's the same little frozen diced homefries you can get anywhere else. Our waitress was excellent and personable, food came quick as well considering how busy it was.
Would visit again next time in the area - maybe aim for...
