Village Studios — Attraction in Stratford

This is a difficult review to right because the art here is outstanding. Highly recommend stopping by to see the talent on display and purchase something to remember your time in Stratford. The staff was abrupt, not rude, but not what you expect in a small town gallery and not my experience in galleries in Stratford in general. The staff made it clear sanitizing our hands in a venue where I’m expected to not touch anything is more essential than saying hello, so I’m giving 3 stars. Why not say hello, welcome, how are you and nicely mention you require sanitizing. Let’s be respectful and kind during COVID. I have no problem sanitizing my hands if you require it, but I don’t think COVID needs to preclude friendliness, especially in Stratford. Oh, staff said nothing else to us until we left and she did at least say goodbye. We love art and through the years have had countless paintings framed by a wide array of businesses. Village Studios is not only the best place in Stratford, it is the best we have ever found. Martha is patient, helpful, and creative, and her prices are beyond fair. She also gives you a realistic date that she will have the work completed and then she has the framing done by then (or sooner)! We have also found several lovely pieces of art in the studio and some of the pottery works are exceptional. And to top it off, Martha and her colleague Brenda are an absolute delight to talk to! When I have to buy a gift, or someone wants to buy me one, I go straight to Village Studios and spend some time looking at the pottery. Love the wide assortment of potters they represent and have developed quite a collection. Martha has been able to arrange some pieces specially painted for me, which I love instead of fine china.
