Fish Time Fish & Chips — Restaurant in Stratford

Flavour was great, portion was sad. Sad fish time. I was looking forward to a decent piece of haddock especially being from the east coast. I had heard great things about this place, so I decided to try it. Big mistake. Not only was the guy on the phone rude, when I finally got my food home (it is worth noting that I paid $13 + 10% tip for a "dinner") there was practically nothing but fries and batter. The portion of the "fillet" roughly fit into maybe a 1/4 cup once I got the batter off. For the dinner you pay an extra $4 and you get coleslaw, gravy, and a drink. It says on the menu (right on the window!) Pop, juice, or water. I asked for apple juice, and the guy said heatedly at me that it was cans of pop or water only. So I got iced tea. Not worth the time or the money. You'd be better off paying $14 for something somewhere else!!! I will follow up.this post...

It doesn't matter how good the fish was. When I went in there to pay $52.99 like the website indicated for a family meal and the girl told me it came to $87 & change. I almost fell over. I could have taken my family of 4 out for supper and got 2 pitchers of beer and dessert for everyone for that cost. Then he insults me by trying to give me a pop. I could have and will definitely go to Annie's next time and from now on. Food means nothing when you can't honour your price. Got the family meal with cod fish (10 pieces of fish + fries) as take out to eat outside in the city. The fish itself was quite good! However, the fries were completely unsalted and no salt packets were provided which seemed very strange to us and certainly detracted from the experience. In addition, only a few tartar sauce and ketchup packets were provided (for a family meal!) which led to us soon having to have eat sauceless fish and unsalted plain fries. These seem like basic and very easy must-haves to consider for customers purchasing fish and chip meals.
